Hi Bloggers.
I'm a bit wary of sharing this card with you as it's green and yellow and I know you guys aren't too keen on this colour combo. But, I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. I wanted to show that you can make girly cards with the stamp sets on the shows tomorrow. I was teasing Kathryn that I'd just made her 25th birthday card! I'm going to try really hard to keep it safe for the next 7 years and give it to her! Don't expect I'll manage it.
Anyway, here's the card -
For the background, I covered a piece of Coconut White Card with Peeled Paint Distress Stain. I dried it with my heat tool and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the the Creative Expressions Bark Embossing Folder. I sanded it to reveal the white core.
I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Classic Cars Stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured the image in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Sunflower and Black Night from the Summer Fayre Set. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Six and inked through the die with Forest Moss Distress Ink.
I cut a Spellbinders Sprial Blosson Three out of Scattered Straw Distress Colorcore and cut a 'leaf' out of Peeled Paint Distress Colorcore using the Venetian Motifs die set.
I added an Idea-ology Plaquette.
I assembled the card as shown, piercing around the edges with my Tim Holtz Ruler.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.
Hi Julia, I like the card very much but not the colours. It may be the camera not showing the colours. Properly but yellow and green just turn my stomach. Sorry but do like the design. Your daughter would be surprised if you produced this on her 25th birthday.

Morning Julia, Sorry, but I don't like this card, the colours are too 'in your face', I think it would be lovely in different colourways though. I really like the elements on the card, just not the colours, sorry. Lots of love from Patricia xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteNice card, shame about the colours!

Morning Julia, I don't mind the colour combo but I do find the background a bit over powering, sorry, but a lovely card for a female. Christine H xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia
ReplyDeleteIts not that i dont like yellow and green - for me it didn't work last time.
On this card i think it does work, altho maybe i wouldn't have so much of the background showing, or brought a darker in over the edges. I would say tho that sometimes photos don't do projects justice and they look better in real life.
Of course cars aren't just for men, come on there are as many female drivers as men, and my aunt use to be a racing driver.
How about a lovely Bright Pink You've passed card!
Emma
I have made a pink card (or 2) - watch out for them on the show! Julia
DeleteMorning Julia,

ReplyDeleteHi julia I actually like the effect of the background but I think its maybe just a tad too green!!! I think it would look better with a white and green baackground!! I must get the venetian set though just for the swirls lol love lesley xx
ReplyDeleteNice card nothing wrong with the colours even though I am a pink and purple girl I know lots of people who like green so would make a perfect card for some members of my family.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 sets of creative expression cars stamps but can't remember if this is one of them, must have a wee look and see or is this a new set?
Keep up the good work all the best Pauline

I think this card is great Julia - I'm really chuffed that you are using different colours. I wasn't a green fan before but now I can see that they (greens) CAN be used and look very stylish. You have a brilliant background to the card as well - very textury. I also love pink and purple - a lot - but life would be pretty boring if all we did was pink and purple. Love this creation.

ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Well I must say I like this card. The design , colours and style are fab! It's fresh, clean and different. Love the way you've done the name plate in the car and good luck in keeping this card safe for seven years lol.
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that my other half loves your card, it's the colours for Norwich Football Club, so it went down a storm with him! It's zesty, it's fresh, and what a change from the usual. Loved your demo this morning, and looking forward to your demo tonight. Keep up the good work ! xx
