Purple Demo Card

Hi Bloggers.

This card was a demo from last Saturday.

For the background, I used a piece of Milk Card and randomly stamped (with the stamp in my hand) the Hexagon Script Stamp using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. I repeated the process with the Rose Background Stamp using Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I made sure it was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Passion Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern. You can't really see the embossed design but it does add some texture. I inked around the edges with Dusty Concord using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Elegant Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Clover and Summer Haze from the Soft Velvet Set, Umber from the Autumn Shades Set and Cosmic Tone from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Grand Decorative Ovals One Dies and inked through the die with Dusty Concord. I cut the second smallest Grand Decorative Circles One out of Blackcurrant Pearlescent card.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Dusty Concord.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Cream Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Lavender Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

Take Time for Yourself

Hi Bloggers.

A brown card today - the last one with my favourite image from the Elegant Ladies Stamp Set.

For the background, I simply ran a piece of Coconut White card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Exotic Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern and then inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Elegant Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Umber and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set, Caramel Blush and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One Dies and inked though the die with Vintage Photo.

I cut the next size up of the Grand Oval dies out of Brown Card. I cut the next size up out of Coconut White Card and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.

I made a couple of ribbon roses out of Brown/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added some leftover bits from a Pearl Swirl.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Dark Bronze around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fashion Fades

Hi Bloggers.

I think we could all do with a bit of sunshine - makes us feel happier I think. Today's card is full of sunshine in a lovely yellow.

For the background, I ran some Milk Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations One World Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern. I forgot that I wanted to use the Rose Background Stamp, so I did this after embossing with the stamp in my hand and with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I then inked around the edges with Mustard Seed using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Elegant Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Sunflower from the Summer Fayre Set, Umber and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Grand Decorative Circles One dies and inked through the die with Mustard Seed. I cut a mat out using the next size of the Grand Decorative Circles One and again inked through the die with Mustard Seed.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Mustard Seed.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Cream Silky Crush Ribbon, added a Fancy Pearl Embellishment and a couple of Decorative Stick Pins.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Golden Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Purple Lilac from the Summer Fayre Set, Umber and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals Dies and inked through the die with Dusty Concord.

I assembled the card as shown. I inked the edges of the mats and added some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White.

Fabulous Darling

Hi Bloggers.

Thanks for your emails to the studio yesterday and for your comments here on the blog. Always greatly appreciated. I think I may have got myself a bit mixed up and given the wrong sizes for the Couture Creations Embossing Folders - they're approximately 6 1/4" x 4 3/4", sorry if I misled anyone.

Another shaped card today - I do like these.

I've used Milk Card again for this card. I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Elegant Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Marigold, Scarlet Flame and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One dies and inked through the die with Fired Brick Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Fired Brick. I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Cream Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Red Dazzler.

I cut the second largest Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles One. At the emboss stage I added the Spellbinders Garden Lattice A4 M-Bossability Folder and then inked through the die with Fired Brick. I cut the largest Grand Decorative Circle and again inked through the die with Fired Brick - so pretty!

I assembled the card as shown.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's Your Day to Shine

Hi Bloggers.

I have shows on C&C today at 10am with Nigel and at 4pm with a new presenter. I hope you can tune in and perhaps send an email if you have time.

A mix of pink and blue today - my first demo (hopefully). Sorry the photo is a bit wonky. I'll be using a different sentiment and die in the demo - you'll have to tune in to see what I change it to!

For the background, I dusted a piece of Milk Card with an anti-static bag and with the stamp in my hand stamped the Hexagon Script Stamp using Perfect Medium. I sprinkled with Cosmic Shimmer Tropic Aqua Blaze Embossing Powder from the Brights Set and heat set. I did this a section at a time. I then filled in the empty spaces with the Art Collage Stamp using Milled Lavender Distress Ink. The Distress Ink remains wet where it lies on the Distress Ink so I blotted it with kitchen roll. I then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Exotic Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern and then edged with Milled Lavender using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Party Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Clover and Blue Lace from the Soft Velvet Set, Umber from the Autumn Shades Set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the second largest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One and inked through the die with Milled Lavender.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Card Creator Distressed Edges and inked through the die with Milled Lavender.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Cream Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Frosted Blue Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Summer Blue around the edges.

Hope you can join me later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

Marvelous

Hi Bloggers.

Here's another sample from tomorrow's shows -

I used Milk Card for this one. For the background, I randomly stamped the Creative Expressions Hexagon Script Stamp (with the stamp in my hand) using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Then I used the same method to randomly stamp the Creative Expressions Rose Background Stamp using Fired Brick Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and popped it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Turkish Delight Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and then inked around the edges with Aged Mahogany using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut the second smallest Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles One out of Burgundy Card. At the emboss stage I added the Spellbinders A4 Garden Lattice M-Bossability Folder. I added this to my background and then wrapped some Burgundy/Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon around the centre.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Party Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Marigold, Scarlet Flame and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using the smallest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals dies and inked through the die with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Card Creator Distressed Edges and inked through the die with Fired Brick.

I tied a bow using the Burgundy/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added a Red Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Berry Red around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Too Much of a Good Thing

Hi Bloggers.

As promised, today I'm giving you a sneak peak from Saturday's shows. I've already told you about some of the products on the show in this post. I've made a few shaped cards for this show as I have the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals and Circles on the show that I launched in a Pick of the Week last July. They are just gorgeous die sets and making a shaped card gives me the excuse to use the largest dies in the set.

Anyway, here's the card -

I'm going to start with the image for a change. I stamped the beautiful lady from the Creative Expressions Party Ladies Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks - I used Clover and Summer Haze from the Soft Velvet Set, Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set and Warm Delight from the Skin Tones Set. I cut her out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Dusty Concord Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Card Creator Distressed Edges and inked through the die with Dusty Concord.

I cut the second largest of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One. I left the card in the die after embossing. I inked up the Creative Expressions Hexagon Script A6 Stamp with Milled Lavender Distress Ink and stamped through the die on one side. You can't get right up to the edge but that doesn't matter. I inked up the stamp again and stamped the other half. You don't need to worry too much about lining it up as the image panel hides the join. I wiped any excess ink from the die and then inked around the edges with Dusty Concord using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut the largest of the Grand Decorative Ovals One and inked through the die with Dusty Concord.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of White Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Lavender Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown.

Hope you like the sneak peak.

For Someone So Special

Hi Bloggers.

I'm finished at the Trade Show now. I was demoing some new Ultra Fine Cosmic Shimmer Glitter. It's lovely and there's some great things you can do with it so watch out for it in the shops very soon.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I used a piece of Foundations Floral Dream Paper. I used the Doodle Daisies Mask and inked through using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Cut n Dry Foam. I moved the mask to extend the pattern. I inked around the edges with Vintage Photo using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Coffee Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 28 and inked through the die with Vintage Photo. I cut various sizes of Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 out of Tan and Milk Card. I inked through the die with Vintage Photo on all of them.

I made 3 flowers - 2 out of brown felt using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 4 and 1 out of Brown/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I used a couple of Pearl Swirls as a spray coming from the flower cluster.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls in the top and bottom left-hand corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Dark Bronze around the edges.

I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak peak from the shows on Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by.

Keep Calm & Drink Beer

Hi Bloggers.

One for the guys today.

For the background, I ran a piece of Tan Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Adagio Embossing Folder. I had to run it through a second time to extend the pattern (join hidden by the ribbon!). I inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam. I popped an Antique Copper Faux Screw Brad in each corner.

I stamped the main image from the Creative Expressions Cheers Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks from the Garden Twist and Autumn Shades Sets. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 28 and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Decagons and inked through the die with Vintage Photo.

I wrapped a piece of Brown /Ivory Striped Grosgrain around my background. I popped a piece of Idea-ology Journeyman Tissue Tape onto my craft sheet and then stamped one of the beer glasses onto it several times using Jet Black Archival. I coloured it in using the Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks and then wrapped it around the centre of my ribbon.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Dark Bronze around the edges.

When I count ....

Hi Bloggers.

Another lovely sentiment today - this time on a feminine card.

For the background, I used a piece of Milk Card and inked through the Doodle Daisies Mask using Tattered Rose Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam. Next, I randomly stamped one of the swirls from the Eco Green Embellishing Flourishes Stamp Set using Dried Marigold Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Intrinsic Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern and inked around the edges with Dried Marigold.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 and inked through the die with Dried Marigold. I cut a Spellbinders Labels 28 out of Pale Peach Card and pierced around the edges along the embossed line.

I made 2 flowers using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 4 - 1 made from Pale Peach Card and 1 from Milk Card which I inked through the die with Dried Marigold before rolling. I added a Pearl Swirl instead of leaves.

I cut a solid butterfly out of Milk Card using Spellbinders Les Papillons and inked through the die with Dried Marigold. I cut a matching lacy butterfly out of Pale Peach Card using another die in the same set. I folded the wings upwards on the lacy one and glued it to the solid one at the body using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

You Mean the World to Me

Hi Bloggers.

A lovely sentiment on today's card.

I used a piece of Foundations Argyle Paper for the background but I changed it a little by randomly stamping a little of the Bubbles A6 stamp (with the stamp in my hand) with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 28 and inked through the die with Black Soot using Cut n Dry Foam. I cut the next size up of Labels 28 out of Black Card.

I tied a knot in 3 short lengths of Black/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I added a couple of keys to the bottom one.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Friends are a Wonderful Gift

Hi Bloggers.

Just to let you know that my shows on 23rd Feb are still going ahead, it's just the March 1st shows that were cancelled. As always, my TV dates are in the left-hand sidebar of this blog.

I'm off to the Trade Show at the NEC early tomorrow morning. I'm there till Tuesday demonstrating on the Creative Expressions Stand. I may not be able to post any Amazon orders till Wednesday - sorry about that. I will be scheduling my posts over those 3 days - hopefully Blogger will behave itself.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I stamped one of the large flourishes from the Eco Green Embellishing Flourishes Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Intrinsic Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern.

I cut the largest of the Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 out of Milk Card and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany using Cut n Dry Foam. I cut the next size down out of Burgundy Card. I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using the second smallest of the Decorative Labels 8 dies and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany.

I tied a bow using Burgundy/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. I left it 'naked'.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Black Pearls in the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

True Friendship

Hi Bloggers.

Kim Dellow is doing some shows for Creative Expressions today at 4pm and 7pm. Be sure to tune in - she has lots of stamps on the shows. Do check the schedule though as times change. Talking of which, sadly my shows on 1st March have been cancelled.

A simple card today from my last set of shows. Change the sentiment and/or the colours and it can be used for any occasion.

So, the background is simply a piece of Milk Card, which is wider than the Couture Creations Pastorale Embossing Folder, run through the Grand Calibur. I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 28. I cut a slightly larger Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 out of black card.

I tied a bow using Black/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added a flower made using Spellbinders Spiral Blossom 4.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges and a few dots top and bottom on both sides of the background.

In case you missed it yesterday, please scroll down to the post below this one for details of new stock in my Amazon Store.

Thanks for stopping by,

Julia.
