Seasons Greetings

Hi Bloggers.

I had a great day with Phill yesterday. It was a bit hectic, very tiring but loads of fun! We're doing it all again on Sunday 22nd November (different projects). I'm not sure if there's any places left but contact Phill or Carol at Honeypot Crafts and they'll be able to tell you.

Loads to do at home today - ALOT of tidying up in my craft room, housework (maybe?), cutting the lawn (depends on the weather) and I've lots of products to store and parcel up for my website. Don't forget, 10% discount on all orders on my website till midnight tonight.

Here's today's card -

For the background, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped Phill Martin's Christmas Holly Background onto Milk Card using Forest Moss Distress Ink. I added a Cream Pearl Corner to each corner.

I cut a frame out of Milk and Brunswick Green Card using Sue Wilson's Ornate Pierced Design Noble Die Set.

I stamped the Creative Expressions Holly and Ivy Plaque using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Sue's Peeking Snowflake Die Set. I coloured in using Cosmic Shimmer Carnival Brights Watercolour Paint Set and a Water Brush. I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Christmas Sentiments Collection, again using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Gold Detail Powder.

I tied a bow using Ivory/Green Striped Grosgrain. I made a flower out of Rich Red and Milk card using Sue's Classic Poinsettia and Classic Poinsettia - Open Petals Die Sets and added a Cream 8mm Pearl to the centre.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

John Lockwood has more shows on Hochanda with Sue Wilson Dies today. Looks like they're at 1pm, 3pm and 6pm.

Thanks for stopping by.

Season's Greetings

Hi Bloggers.

I'm with Phill Martin today helping to run his Craftathon. 52 crafters! It's going to be busy!

Here's today's card -

The background is from Phill Martin's Frosty Christmas Holly 8 x 8 Paper Pad. I added a White Pearl Corner to 3 of the corners.

I stamped Phill's Christmas Holly Decorative Frame : Lattice Stamp into Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with PM Cosmic Shimmer Decadent Denim Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A. I stamped Phill's Christmas Holly Insert Frame : Season's Greetings onto Coconut White Card, again using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Decadent Denim Powder. I cut this out with another 6 x 6 Matting Basics A die. I then pinched an idea from Phill - I ran some PM Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Sky PVA around the edges of both the frames and sprinkled Cosmic Shimmer Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels over it while still wet.

I cut a pair of Sue Wilson's Holly Sprays out of Coconut White Card and added some Frosty Sky PVA as berries.

I picked another paper from Phill's Paper Pad and cut 2 sizes from Sue's Classic Poinsettia Die Set out of it twice. I cut the same 2 sizes out of White Card using Sue's Classic Poinsettia Open Petals Die Set. I glued the pieces together at the centres only, shaped them, stacked them up offsetting them securing with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue and added a Brad.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Simply Sparkle Texture Paste

Hi Bloggers.

I'm demoing at the Strikes Garden Centre in Carlise today 10am till 4pm. Do pop in and say hello if you're in the area. I left home at 10.30am yesterday and was booked into my hotel just after 5pm. So glad I left early as I dread to think how long it would have taken if I had left after lunch like I usually do. I parked a bit here and there on the M6 but overall not toooooo bad! The hills in the Lakes and the Dales looked beautiful in the dappled sunlight.

As the title of this post suggests, this is a really simple card made with Sparkle Texture Paste -

I've spread some Phill Martin Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Mink Sparkle Texture Paste through the Baubles Mask onto Milk Card. Once dry, I inked around the edges with PM CS Frosty Mink Colour Cloud Ink using a Smoothie.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Peace on Earth Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Frosty Mink Colour Cloud Blending Ink via a Smoothie. I cut it out using a Spellbinders Romantic Labels Two Die and inked through the die with the Frosty Mink Colour Cloud.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Before I sign off, I just wanted to tell you that for the Bank Holiday I'm giving 10% discount on all purchases on my website till midnight on Monday 31st August. The weather might not be brilliant this weekend so why not have a browse! Free postage to the UK on orders £20 and over.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Mini Scene

Hi Bloggers.

Super quick blog post today as I'm running a workshop at Creative Expressions HQ today. I've been prepping for Phill's Craftathon on Sunday - ny the way he's told me he can squeeze in another couple of people so if you're not busy on Sunday and fancy joining us - give Phill a ring at Honeypot Crafts.
I'm heading up North again on Friday (leaving as early as I can) as I'll be demoing at Strikes in Carlisle on Saturday.

Anyway, back to today's card -

Really simple - I've cut all the layers in Sue Wilson's Christmas Scene Mini Background Die Set out of Cobalt Card. I've popped some Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet between each layer set and added Cosmic Shimmer Penny Copper Polished Silk Glitter.

I cut some of Sue's Winter Trees out of Cobalt Card and rubbed Cast Bronze Gilding Wax over them.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Happy Birthday

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

The image is from the Wild Rose Studio Printed Panels Pack - Elsie Panels. These are great if you need a quick card. Each panel is printed on a 105mm square of 300gsm card. The pack includes 4 designs, with 8 coloured images and 4 black and white images in total.

I cut my chosen panel out using Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A and inked through the die with Cosmic Shimmer Crimson Kiss Colour Cloud Blending Ink (on order) with a Smoothie

I cut out the largest die in the Spellbinders Floral Assortment Die Set out of Raspberry Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Wild Rose Studio Everyday Sentiments Clear Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Crimson Kiss Colour Cloud via a Smoothie. I popped some Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder on top an heat set. I cut it out using the smallest die in the Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two Die Set and inked through the die with Crimson Kiss.

I made a flower out of Coconut White Card using Spellbinders Flower Play Die Set. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Dies Clear Glue and some Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow Glitter Jewels. This was actually a flower I had made at a demo so I added some Crimson Kiss ink to the edges of the petals when I made this card. I cut some leaves out of Raspberry Card using Spellbinders Flower Bundle Die Set.

The backing paper is from Phill Martin's Chic Floral Paper Pad. I added a White Pearl Corner to 3 of the corners and pierced around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Let it Snow

Hi Bloggers.

Had a great weekend in Preston - tired now though as I got home quite late! A day of chores and catching up with post today.

Here's today's card -

A simple card - great for batch making, can be made in any colour as it's all made from Coconut White Card.

I started my stamping Phill Martin's Christmas Holly Decorative Frame : Snow using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with PM Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Aqua Embossing Powder. I removed the excess mica powder using a dry wet wipe. I cut it out using a Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A Die. I ran a little PM Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Aqua Colour Cloud Blending Ink around the edges using a Smoothie.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill's Christmas Holly Sentiments Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Frosty Aqua Embossing Powder. I cut it out die a die from the Spellbinders Floral Assortment Die Set and inked through the die with Frosty Aqua Colour Cloud.

I coloured a piece of Blue White American Seam Binding with Frosty Aqua Colour Cloud and tied a bow. I added an Aqua Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White 5mm Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of you at Christmas

Hi Bloggers.

It's day 2 of our demo weekend at Inspirations in Preston today. I'll be focussing on Christmas today.

Here's today's card -

This card features one of my favourite techniques with background dies at the moment - a variation of Fire & Ice but with Mica Powders instead of Gilding Flakes.

I cut the inner die only from the Spellbinders 5 x 7 Mistletoe Card Front Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I placed a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet on the front of the die cut. On the back, I added Phill Martin Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Heather and Frosty Aqua Mica Powders, spreading them all over the sticky areas with a Soft Dusting Brush. I removed as much of the excess Mica Powder as possible and then sealed the whole area with a piece of copy paper. I turned the piece over, removed the other backing sheet from the adhesive and added Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Sprinkles all over.

I cut the Spellbinders 5 x 7 Holly Frame out of Coconut White Card with a Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics B die in the centre to form a frame. I lightly inked through the dies with Frosty Heather Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.

I stamped the sentiment from John Lockwood's 12 Days of Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Holly Tags and inked through the die with Frosty Heather Colour Cloud.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Off White Satin Ribbon. I pressed a Metal Dazzler Setting into Clear Perfect Medium, added Silver Shine Powder, tapped off the excess and heat set. I allowed it to cool for a few minutes, added a Purple Dazzler and popped it onto my bow using a Glue Dot.

I made a couple of Stick Pins using Creative Expressions Stick Pin Elements (Teal Teardrops and White Pearls - must use Glossy Accents) and popped them behind my bow.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat. The mat behind the pierced one is Coconut White Card coloured with PM Frosty Heather Colour Cloud Blending Ink using a Smoothie.

Just to let you know that there is scheduled maintenance at Digital River who provide my payment gateway on my website between 8am and 9am today so if you experience problems paying during that time, that will be the reason. Paypal payments will be unaffected.

Happy Birthday

Hi Bloggers.

John Lockwood and I are demoing at Inspirations in Preston today and tomorrow. Hope to see some of you there.

Here's today's card -

This card has a messy background - a subtle one! I made it while demoing at Stoneleigh with Phill Martin a couple of weeks ago. I spritzed some PM Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Blossom Ink Spray Mist onto a piece of Cut n Dry Foam. I used this as my ink pad and with the stamp in my hand I randomly stamped Phill's Leafy Background over a piece of Coconut White Card. I spritzed a little more ink onto my Craft Sheet and mixed a little PM Frosty Blossom Mica Powder into it. I picked this up onto my Cut n Dry Foam. I then randomly stamped Phill Vintage Script Background into some of the gaps on my Coconut White Card. Finally, using a Smoothie I inked up one of the flower stamps from Phill's Butterfly Montage Stamp Set with Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud Blending Ink and stamped them around the background. I used the edge of my inked Cut n Dry Foam inking around the edges of the background. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine (yes, I have one!) with the Creative Expressions Wild Roses Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill's Scribbled Frame Sentiments Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Triple Floral Die Set and inked through the die with Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.

I cut the largest 2 dies in the Spellbinders Decorative Labels 47 Die Set together out of Coconut White Card and inked through the dies with Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud. It's worth mentioning that the picture on the packaging and the catalogue picture of the largest die in the Die Set Decorative Labels 47 is not the same as what you actually get. In my opinion what you get is much nicer!

I turned the inner die 90 degrees before adding to the larger die.

I cut a vine and some flowers out of Coconut White Card using Spellbinders Flower Bundle Die Set . I inked through the flower die with Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud. I snipped the vine in 2 and hid the join under the largest flower.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

For those of you that missed it, the Creative Expressions Demonstration Team will be appearing on the new Hochanda TV Channel which launches on 27th August. John Lockwood will be the first of us to make an appearance. My first show is 23rd September. Please scroll down to the previous post for more details.
