Whisper of Wings

Hi Bloggers.

I'm running a couple of workshops up at Creative Expressions HQ today. 2 full sessions and some lovely projects so should be a good day.

Here's today's card -

The background is misted with CS Pixie Powders. I popped some water into a couple of empty mister bottles. I puffed some Peacock Green Pixie Powder into one and some Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powder into the other (you don't need much). I gave them a shake and misted them onto my Coconut White Card, allowing the first one to dry before adding the second.

Once completely dry, I dusted with my anti static bag and them stamped the image from the Justrite Whisper of Wings Stamp Set many times using Cobalt Archival, adding CS Clear Embossing Powder after stamping each one. I heat set them all. I tapped a little Peacock Green Pixie Powder into a palette, added a teeny bit of water and painted the tops of the feathers as shown using a Water Brush. It's necessary to emboss images when painting with a mica based product, otherwise you lose the definition of the image.

I misted another piece of card with my misters and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Cobalt Archival. I cut it out using a Justrite Vintage Labels 10 Die. I cut the next size die out of Emerald Card. I cut a Justrite Stitched A2 Banners & Rectangles Die out of Cobalt Card.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

My next workshop in Milton Keynes is on Saturday 16th April. It's a masks masterclass packed full of techniques using these fabulous inexpensive pieces of equipment and yes, we will be using the new Pixie Powders! You can book via my website here.

Lisa Horton is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda this evening starting at 8pm. Hope you can tune in - she has some brand new MDF and co-ordinating stamps. I'm offering 10% discount on items I have in stock from the shows on my website here. Offer applies till midnight tomorrow night or while stocks last.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you a happy day

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I started by dusting a piece of Bright White Card with an Anti Static Bag. I inked up the main die in the Spellbinders Houndstooth Die Set with Clear Perfect Medium using a Brayer and ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with my dusted card using the emboss sandwich. The transferred to the deboss pattern. I dusted Phill Martin Decadent Bamboo Mica Powder over the surface using asoft brush and removed the excess with a dry wet wipe. I cut the background out using the outer die from the same set.

I stamped the sentiment from John Lockwood's Pierced Tag Sentiments Stamp Set onto Bright White Card using Fern Green Archival. I cut it out using the banner die from the Spellbinders Floral Berry Accents Die Set and inked through the die with CS Phill Martin Decadent Bamboo Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.

I cut the corner die from the Floral Berry Accents Die Set , both the leaves and the die that cuts 4 flowers, inking through the dies with Decadent Bamboo Colour Cloud.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Rhinestone Gems and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

You are so Sweet

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

The background is made with new CS Pixie Powders. I used a piece of Watercolour Card. I placed the Emeralds Mask on it then added some Plum Twist and Golden Mint Pixie Powders, tapping the end of the bottle so that only a little came out. Leaving the mask in place, I misted over the top with water. This wakes the powders up - some of the powders split into other colours and with all of the colours you get a lovely shimmer from the mica. So very cool!

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Petite Lavish Sentiments onto Coconut White Card using Plum Archival. I cut it out using Spellbinders Savoy Decorative Accents. I cut a frame by first cutting a Spellbinders Savoy Labels Die out of a larger than needed piece of Coconut White Card. Using the waste, I placed the largest die in the Spellbinders Savoy Decorative Elements Die Set around the aperture in the waste - it fits with a narrow border, and ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine.

I cut a frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Squares. I cut a mat using Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B and another mat using Sue's Double Pierced Squares.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearl Corners.

Phill Martin is continuing with his One Day Special on Hochanda today with shows at 9am, 12noon, 4pm and 7pm. My offer of 10% discount on items from the shows that I have in stock applies till midnight tonight. You can find them here.

I cut the Justrite Garden Circle Die out of Primrose Card. I stamped the sentment from the Justrite Spring Wishes Vintage Labels 8 & 9 Stamp Set onto Primrose Card using Watering Can Archival. I cut it out using a circle die from the Justrite Four in a Square Die Set.

I cut a pair of vines twice out of Primrose Card using Justrite Stitched Oval and Vine Dies. I made a couple of flowers using Justrite Floral Trio One Dies and added some Small Circle Dazzlers.

I assembled the card as shown piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks so much

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I embossed a piece of Milk Card using the Couture Creations Small Dots Embossing Folder. I ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine a second time to extend the design.

I stamped the Justrite Butterfly Background onto Milk Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I cut the background into 3 strips and mounted onto Vintage Gold Card.

I stamped the sentiment  and the frame from the Justrite Spring Wishes Vintage Labels 8 & 9 Stamp Set onto Milk Card and embossed with CS Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut the sentiment out using Justrite Vintage Labels 9 Dies and the frame out using Justrite Vintage Labels 8 Dies. I added a couple of Gold Brads and added the frame to my card as shown using 3d Foam.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Antique White Satin Ribbon. I pressed a Metal Dazzler Setting and a Vintage Metal Embellishment into Clear Perfect Medium, added Gold Detail Powder to them both and heat set. I added them to my bow.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 5mm Cream Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Let there be love

Hi Bloggers.

Back from a very busy One Day Special. Hope you enjoyed the shows - they are really lovely dies and that paper pad! Well, I hope you got yours!

Today will be spent doing post, unpacking, washing and trying to sort out the huge amount of website stock that is currently sat in my lounge! I really need to get on with my next post for the Spellbinders Blog and I have a couple of projects to do for Making Cards Magazine. How many hours are there in a day??

Here's today's card -

When I was cutting the dies to go on the sample boards, I thought the waste from the little berries die in the Spellbinders Labels Fifty Decorative Accents looked like it would be good to ink through. So, in a moment of madness, I cut the die many times in a square of foundations card to make my own mask. I used my mask to create my background, first inking though it onto Milk Card with CS Rose Blush Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. I then rotated my mask and inked through it with CS Spring Bluebell Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. I ran my Rose Blush inked Smoothie around the very edges of the card.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Mini Baroque Inspirational Sentiments Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Cobalt Archival. I cut it out using a Spellbinders Labels 50 Decorative Accents die and inked through the die with Rose Blush Colour Cloud.

I cut the largest die in the same set out of Milk Card and again inked through the die with Rose Blush Colour Cloud.

I cut the 4 flower die and the swag die from the Spellbinders Floral Berry Accents Die Set out of Milk Card and inked through the die with Rose Blush Colour Cloud. I popped some CS True White Detail Embossing Powder into a bag and added a little CS Phill Martin Chic Magenta Mica Powder and gave it a shake. I added Clear Perfect Medium, my embossing powder mix and heat set. I shaped the flowers and added them to the swag die cut.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Pixie Powders are now in stock and any orders placed over the last few days will be sent out today. Here's a reminder of some of the cool backgrounds you can make with them - you can even paint with them. Any cards not yet seen here on the blog will be featured very soon!

You can find all 20 colours of Pixie Powders on my website here. £2.99 each.

Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powders which sold out very quickly on last week's Justrite One Day Special are now in stock. You can find them here. Here's a reminder of a few of the cards I've made with them -
I have also received stock of the new CS Metallic Gilding Polishes as shown on Hochanda on John Lockwood's shows earlier this week. You can find them here. I have 9 of the 12 colours. I will watch out for stock of the 3 missing colours to become available.

I also have another brand new Cosmic Shimmer product called Diamond Dust. It's an ultra fine glitter that looks different on white and black card. You can find them here.

Thanks for stopping by.
