Sneak Peak - Pansies in Spring

Hi Bloggers.

As promised, today I'm starting to share cards from the Justrite One Day Wonder. But before I start, I want to remind you that our Sam has shows on Create & Craft today at 11am and 4pm. Looks like she's with Dean and Nigel so a lovely day ahead for her.

Back to the One Day Wonder (herein will be referred to ODW to save typing!). There are lots of new stamps, both clear and rubber. Today's card features the Pansies in Spring Rubber Stamp Set. Justrite have started producing SVG files to co-ordinate with many of their new stamp sets - really useful if you have a Silhouette Cameo. Sadly, I don't so I've cut everything out by hand where I couldn't use a die. To go to the Justrite Stampers Blog entry for the Pansies in Spring Stamp Set click here.

Here's today's card -

Now, I don't want you to panic and think that this set requires colouring in. I have made lots of cards where I've used detail embossing powders and different coloured card so colouring in is not essential.

The background is a piece of Coconut White Card run through the Grand Calibur with the new Asian Weave Embossing Folder from Couture Creations. It's a small repeating pattern so when I ran it through a second time to extend the design, it was easy to line up. I inked around the edges with Cool Peri Adirondack Dye Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the basket of pansies using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Distress Markers. I used Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.

I cut it out using the 2 largest dies in Sue's Decorative Frames from the Italian Collection. I inked through the die with Cool Peri. I cut the largest of the Tuscany dies (again from the Italian Collection) from Mauve Card.

I tied a bow using Purple/Ivory Striped Ribbon and added a White Crystal Sparkler. I stamped the sentiment using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels 7 and inked through the die with Cool Peri.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls to the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cosmic Pearl around the edges.

I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek, from another stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  22. Great stamp and lovely idea re the svg files I'm seriously thinking of getting a Silhouette as at heart I am a cd crafter au must be the only one that bought the ScanNcut and returned it because I couldn't get on with it (small screen, feathery cuts even after a perfect test cut and U don't produce enough stuff to warrant the cost) The pansies are pretty and I can see ways of masking parts off to get a completely different look
