Be not afraid

Morning Bloggers.

Just to clear up any confusion about the shows on Monday. It was supposed to be just a boy themed show but Ideal World weren't happy with that so I have had to add in some girly stuff too. The stamps on offer on the show are - Skateboard Silhouettes, Anything is Possible, Urban Beats, Urban Life, Bubblewrap, Newsprint, Chicken Wire, Sole Creations and Stylish Ladies. I am hoping to pick up some stock of some of the stamps between shows on Monday.

On to today's card -

I popped some Kraftcore through the Grand Calibur with the Creative Expressions Crackle Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern (the ribbon hides the join!). I then sanded it to reveal the core.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Anything is Possible Stamp Set (also on Monday's shows) using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using some Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight and inked through the die with Stormy Sky Distress Ink and Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Skateboard Silhouettes Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three and again inked through the die with Stormy Sky. I threaded some Black American Seam Binding Through it and secured it to the back.

I coloured a couple of Antique Silver Faux Screw Brads with a black promarker and added them to the top 2 corners.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges (it flattens a little on the Kraftcore).

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  1. Julia,
It is too bad that you are not doing a guy only card show, that would have been fantastic as I always. Struggle with cards for guys. I am sure the show will be amazing no matter what you do. This card is very interesting.. Happy Sat.

  2. Good Morning Julia,
What's so wrong in having a male themed show only, they are so difficult in all respects, hee hee.
Todays card is great, love the background and the sentiment, I like the Chinese Proverbs, looking forward to Mondays shows.
    Have a great day.

  4. Hi Julia. Like everyone else I struggle with male caards, especially teens so an all male show would have been great but getting female stamps as well is an extra bonus. Love todays card.

  6. Morning julia,
Great card love the background. They are very fickle on C&C changing your shows like that. Whatever you do will be great.
    Have a good day.

  11. Morning Julia, A lovely card today, ideal for a boy, I love the sanded background. I'm not good with boy/men cards and need lots of inspiration ha ha !! when I do one I always feel there is something missing (ie flowers or ribbon ha ha), because I'm a 'more is more' cardmaker ha ha. I have overcome this by making pinwheels with 'male oriented' papers and putting them on with bakers twine.
I'm really looking forward to your shows on Monday, C&C always seem to want to change things at the last minute, it must really mess up your samples etc. Don't let them get to you, Julia.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  12. Morning Julia

Fabulous card, shame that C&C have decided not to do a Male themed show, many card makers struggle with cards for men. Will still be watching though cos your demos are brilliant

  16. Hello Julia, So whats wrong with a male themed show, C&C messing about with the schedule will make it harder for you with samples, don't let them grind you down Julia. I like others find teen/male a challenge.
Todays card is lovely, love the sentiment and the background is so effective.
Will be watching Monday, looking forward to your demos.
    Have a great day everyone.
