Hi Bloggers.
Thank you for all your comments and emails yesterday - much appreciated. Welcome to my new followers.
Today's card was the first demo yesterday.
For the background, I ran the Couture Creations Ambrosia Embossing Folder through the Grand Calibur with some Coconut White Card. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern. I wasn't too bothered about it lining up as my ribbon was going to cover it. I inked around the edges with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.
I stamped the image from the Stylish Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks and added a little Pearl Shine from the Metallics Drawing Inks Set to the feather in her hair. I cut the image out using Spellbinders Scalloped Labels One and inked through the die with Victorian Velvet.
I ran some Rose Sheer Wrinkle Edge Ribbon down the length of my card and then added some White Crochet Ribbon on top (I have some for sale here on ebay). I tied a bow with the White Crochet Ribbon. I added a piece cut from the Spellbinders Ribbon Buckles Die Set, a Pink Dazzler and a couple of White Pearl Decorative Stick Pins.
I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinder Labels Twenty-Eight and inked through the die with Victorian Velvet.
I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Pink around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.
Hi Julia, this card is so pretty and feminine, loved watching the demos. Thanks for all the ideas, really love those urban stamps. Bx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. I saw this being demo'd yesterday and you made it look so easy although it looks as though you've spent hours on it. beautiful stamps.
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, Brilliant shows yesterday, great tips and techniques.
ReplyDeleteI loved this card when you demo'd it, it is such a 'girlie' and pretty card, I love the image, she is beautiful, and the crochet ribbon (which sold out) is gorgeous. I love the new dazzlers, I bought nearly all the colours at Kettering, and this one on the bow just finishes off the card perfectly. I love it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Love this card.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your hard work to bring us the wonderful cards.

Pretty card, but it does mystify me when you call it 'Crochet Ribbon' - it's lace! Whats more, it's the machine version of Torchon Lace. (I've been a lacemaker since 1976).
ReplyDeleteIt's called Crochet Ribbon in the catalogue! Sorry!

I also enjoyed the fabulous boys background you made what a great idea to not mount the large ie chicken wire etc stamps onto an acrylic block I struggle stamping with the large blocks always end up dropping them will have to get the splat stamp to cover my messy errors ha!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've commented even though I've been a follower for a while. I'm rubbish at visiting blogs and today i've actually opened my google reader which makes it much better for catching all the latest posts from people I follow.
Missed the show, but seeing the finished card is great apart from seeing the actual demo.
