Best Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

This card was set to be a demo last Sunday but we ran out of time.

The background is simply a piece of handmade paper. I cut the largest of the Spellbinders Fancy Ribbon Threaders out of a pale yellow card. At the emboss stage I added the Floral Lace Mask. I inked through the die with Mustard Seed Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut a basket from Kraft Core using the Spellbinders Homespun die set. I sanded it to reveal the core. I cut some flowers out of white card using the same die set and inked through the die with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I cut some little leaves (again using a Homespun die) out of felt that I bought from Sam Poole here. I popped the Homespun die cuts onto the Fancy Ribbon Treader die cut as shown.

I threaded some American Seam Binding in Blue White through the slots in the Fancy Ribbon Threaded Die cut as shown, attached the die cut to the handmade paper background using 3d foam pads and secured the excess ribbon at the back of the background paper. I tied a bow using 3 lengths of the ribbon, spritzed it with water and dried it with my heat tool scrunching it as I went. I threaded some Baker's Twine from the Primary Set through a cream button and tied a bow. I glued this to the centre of my bow using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

I masked off the 'to you' on the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Button Florals Stamp Set, stamped it using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a small die from the Fancy Postage Edge die set and inked through the die with Mustard Seed. I added a couple of 5mm White Self Adhesive Pearls where the holes in the tag were.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  2. Hi Julia, congrats to HiggiSue for posting first from sunny Crete. Your card is lovely, summery colours, even though I think we missed summer this year again. I hope Kathryn has settled in at Uni and that you are not feeling too upset.

  8. Morning Julia, A beautiful card, it is so summery, (which is nice considering the weather outside, yucky) I love the colours you have used and I just love the ribbon threader die-cut. I wasn't too sure about the Homespun die set when I first saw it, but there is so much you can use it for, this card shows that, I love the little flowers in the set too. Like other postees I think this card would be a gorgeous Easter card with little easter eggs in the basket. Have a lovely weekend, and I hope yesterday went off OK, leaving Kathryn. Lots of love from Patricia xx
