Hi Bloggers.
I've been having a bit of a clearout this weekend and have popped a load of stuff on ebay. Click on the link in the menu above to go and have a look.
I know many of you won't like the colour of this card but forget about the colour and hopefully you'll find something you can use in a make of your own.
For the background, I started by misting a piece of Milk Card with Tangerine Cosmic Shimmer Ink Spray Mist. I popped a little Russet Red Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Paint onto my Craft Sheet. I picked some up onto some Cut n Dry Foam and randomly inked through the centre section of the Floral Frame Mask with the paint. Then, I loaded up the Cut n Dry with more Russet Red Paint and used that as an 'ink pad' to randomly stamp the Art Collage Stamp. In the same way, I used some Topaz Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Paint to randomly stamp the Plaid Stamp. I made sure the paint was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Wild Honey Distress Ink.
I stamped the Best Wishes Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using scissors. I coloured in using Topaz Shimmer Paint, Enchanted Gold and Golden Malachite from the Cosmic Shimmer Garden Tones Watercolouur Set. For the frame, I mixed a little Tangerine Dream Mister with some Enchanted Gold Watercolour. I cut the largest die in the Murcia Die Set from Sue's Spanish Collection and inked through the die with Wild Honey.
I made 2 scrunched up flowers using the largest 2 dies in Sue's Classic Rose Die Set. I inked the tips of the petals with Wild Honey. I cut a couple of Faux Quilled Leaves out of Coconut White Card.
I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls in the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cosmic Pearl around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Very bright & cheery I love all of these cards on blogs I visit but a lot of the cards I make need to be posted and I'm always bothered that cards with height are going to get damaged even though I have a couple of flower dies I've not used them yet Note to self - make a card with 3D flowers

Hi Julia. Wow, this card certainly cheers you up on a dull day. I love the bright colours you've used. Thank you for sharing your background techniques with us on C&C, I'm having so much fun playing with the colours and textures.

Nothing wrong with the colours. Nothing wrong with being bright and breezey - anyone who has seen you on C&C will know you as being a bright soul, always cheerful. For my own personal taste the heart frame matter is not dark enough, but I don't know if I would have made it redder (to match the red in the background) or would have added a thin black mat underneath. I am glad we are not all the same, just don't be so apologetic about it. Now off to see what you have put on ebay - I have got some great stamps off you recently on there.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. What a bright, sunny card. Just love the leaves - another die on my list.

Morning Julia, if I am honest orange is my least favourite colour but I can see through this and imagine it in blue or pink or some other softer colour! Do love everything else about the card, especially the flowers. Love. Jean xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Love the card and the colours. I have just watched Sue's latest video on her blog where she uses the classic rose die set but she 'folds' the petals over. How have you achieved the scrunched up look and did you spritz the card with water? Lyn A.
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Julia
ReplyDeleteStunning card with a totally tropical flavour -just whats needed on a grotty day.

This is stunning! The colours are fabulous! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI think today's card is lovely and I think I may be in a colour rut! I would never choose orange but it looks lovely and I love the background and the flowers are gorgeous. Whether or not I'll try orangey tones remains to be seen but I would definitely try to replicate this gorgeous card in another colourway!
Thanks for the new tool advice! Looking forward to that!
Love Myra
Good evening Julia, I hope you are well and have had a good weekend. Love this card today. Very bright and cheerful. Kind regards Joanne K x
ReplyDeletePersonally I love this colour it's so bright and cheery.
ReplyDeleteLove the design of the card but the colour is not for me sorry Julia but you cannot please all of the people all of the time! I know just what you mean about Sue's leaf die I love using it and do use it lots but when it comes to cleaning AAHH! That is all I dare say here, anything that will help will be most welcome.
