I think You're so Special

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I misted through the Moroccan Mask with Blue Lilac from the Cosmic Shimmer Summer Shades Mica Spray Set. It's quite pale so you may have to zoom in to see it. I dried it with my heat tool and then randomly stamped the Daisy Swirl using Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I stamped it on paper first each time to remove some of the ink so I had a paler image. I made sure the ink was dry and then inked around the edges with Dusty Concord using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the Zentangled Heart using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using a mix of Matt Drawing Inks and Mica Powders. I used Purple Lilac from the Summer Fayre Drawing Ink Set, Clover & Summer Haze from the Soft Velvet Drawing Ink Set (on order), Blue Lilac & Lapis Lavender from the Summer Shades Mica Spray Set. I cut the heart out using scissors and went around the edges with a black promarker to hide any white bits.

I cut the wavy die from the Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents and inked through the die with Dusty Concord. I also cut a Spellbinders Labels 9, again inking through the die with Dusty Concord.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Classic Message Pre Cut Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. Unfortunately, this stamp set was not shown much on the shows which is a real shame as there's lots of useful sentiments on it in nice fonts - and it's pre cut! Anyway, I cut it out using Spellbinders Fancy Postage Edge and inked through the die with Dusty Concord.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  33. Hi Julia

Wow! Stunning. I clicked on the picture to bring it up full screen and I could see where you used tbe mask. It is a terrific background- I really like the daisy stamp. I will try that technique asap. The hint with using a black marker to hide the white bits on the stamp is a grwat one, thanks. I thought you'd done the zentangle! The colouring on that stamp makes the card I think, they are very nice colours, the matting using different shape spellbinders gives the card a very modern feel. The sentiment stamp is nice too, I shall look out for that set.

    A really lovely card

    Hugs
