Don't forget - our Black Friday Sale is on over on our website. Enter BLACKFRIDAY in the discount box at checkout to get 20% off your purchases PLUS - the frst 10 customers each day will receive a FREE GIFT! Offer valid till midnight Monday 27th November or While Stocks Last.
Here's a pic of the beading that I did on my last beady break - it's a long process especially when I don't get to go to my monthly beading session. I can't go next week as I'll be at Hochanda do a One Day Special.
On this one, I still have to do another length of chain on left, attach the chatons together in pairs, add them to the chain and then do another length of chain to each side, make a toggle and attach the ring and toggle to the chain. Should be finished by next Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by.

Lisa Horton One Day Special Shows on Hochanda today
Hi Bloggers.
Lisa Horton is launching a new One Day Special on Hochanda at 6pm. I have made a few samples for the shows so I'm sharing one today -
The background has been created by mopping up waste Distress Oxide Inks. Whatever ink was left on my Craft Sheet has been misted with water and picked up onto a piece of Milk Card. The colours on there are Broken China, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo.
I stamped some cogs from an old very loved stamp set from Creative Expressions Stamp Set called Vintage Inventor using Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. I placed the Creative Expressions Vintage Diamond Mini Stencil on the bottom right of my background and spread some CS Clear Texture Paste through it. I repeated this in the top left hand side and put aside to dry.
I wondered if the Distress Oxide Ink would ride to the surface of the Texture Paste but it did not - this could have been because the background ink had been really dry (from a demo). If it had just been made then perhaps some of the ink might have moved in the Texture Paste? Something to try!
Once my Texture Paste was dry, I placed the Mini Stencil back on top and inked through with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide to make the design a bit more prominent.
I went around the edges with a Woodware Edge Crimper and then edged with Vintage Photo and Fired Brick Distress Oxides. I matted onto Black Card and then Milk Card.
I cut dies #2 and #3 together from the Industrial Chic Background out of Milk Card twice.
I cut the largest die in the Industrial Chic Frame & Tag Die Set out of Chestnut Card. I cut the Ransom Note Birthday Die out of some more of my mopped up ink card.
I painted a Flourish Pop-em with Tarnished Silver CS Shimmer Paint. I added Marigold CS Metallic Lustre Paint - I added a good thick coat. I heated it and it bubbled a bit. I then added some Chocolate Gold CS Metallic Lustre Paint - again quite a thick coat. I heated it and it bubbled some more. Looks good, doesn't it?
I cut a few of the dies from the Industrial Chic Mixed Essentials Die Set out of Black Gloss Card.
I'm offering 10% off items from the shows on my website. You can find them here. Please enter STEAMPUNK in the discount code box at checkout to activate your discount. Offer valid till midnight tomorrow night or while stocks last. Lisa has another show at 8pm tonight and then more shows at 9am, 1pm and 5pm tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by.

Chalk Clouds and the lovely Woodware Travel Background
Hi Bloggers.
I have a demo card from my last set of Hochanda shows for you today. I have already blogged this in a different colourway (here) but this is so pretty, I thought it derserved it's day on the blog -
I've used one of my mopped up waste ink backgrounds - Chalk Clouds in Enchanted Blossom, Sweet Violet, Gentle Lavender and Terracotta.
I stamped the Woodware Travel Background on top using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I trimmed my piece and edged with Terracotta Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie.
I wrapped a piece of Sheer Iridescent Ribbon around the bottom section and them matted onto Black Card and popped onto a Coconut White Card blank.
I added CS White Gesso to an Arty Heart Pop-em. Once dry, I added Terracotta Chalk Cloud and then pounced through a section of the Celtic Vine Mask with Gentle Lavender Chalk Cloud. I edged the Pop-em with Enchanted Blossom Chalk Cloud.
I made a couple of flowers out of more of my mopped up waste ink background using Sue Wilson's Sweet Williams Die Set.
I completed my card by adding a 5mm Black Pearl to the centre of the flowers.
Francoise Read has shows on Hochanda today at 11am, 3pm and 7pm with the cute stamp sets from her Christmas release. I'm offering 10% discount on items from the shows that I have in stock on my website. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight today only or while stocks last. Discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

Chalk Clouds on Black Card
Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I used Natural Sponges and CS Chalk Clouds - Enchanted Blossom, Blue Lagoon and Sweet Violet onto Black Card. My Natural Sponges were just pliable - not wet, barely damp. This is important so that the ink in the Chalk Cloud pots isn't diluted. I cut my background out using Sue Wilson's Essential Pierced Rectangles. I edged with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I used a White Pen to scribble around the edges. I matted onto some bright pink card from my stash and popped onto a Black Card blank.
I stamped one of the images from the Woodware Eyes Stamp Set onto Black Card using Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud, applying the ink with a Smoothie. I cut it out using Sue's Double Pierced Squares and inked around the edges with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I doodled in 2 of the corners with my White Pen. I cut a mat out of my bright pink using the next sized die in Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B.
I placed my Eye topper onto my background and positioned the flourish on the Every Child Mask just below my topper. I drew through the mask with my White Pen.
I stamped the sentiment from the Woodare Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set onto Black Card using Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags and cut a mat out of bright pink card using the next sized die in the set.
I painted an Arty Hearts Pop-em with CS Black Gesso. Once the Gesso was dry, I edged the heart with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I selected a word from the Every Child Mask and inked through the mask onto the Pop-em with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I added some White Pen to the sentiment panel and the Pop-em.

Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
The background on this one was created by mopping up all the excess ink on my Craft Sheet from previous Chalk Cloud projects onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I used the main colours on my background for my stamping and embellishments. I trimmed my background piece and inked around the edges with Toasted Rose CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I matted onto Black Card and then onto Coconut White Card.
I stamped the Woodware Vintage Fabric Stamp onto Coconut White Card using Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud applying the ink to the stamp via a Smoothie. I tore around the edges and then inked with Sweet Apple Chalk Cloud.
I stamped the eye from the Woodware Eyes Stamp Set using Toasted Rose Chalk Cloud.
I stamped the INSPIRE test from the Woodware Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set, again using Toasted Rose. I tore around the eye and the sentiment using my Tim Holz Ruler to get a more even tear and then inked around the edges with Sweet Apple. I stamped the 'Always try to' from the Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set using Onyx Black Versafine Ink.
I covered 2 of the flourishes on the Flourishes Pop-ems sheet with a thin coat of White CS Gesso. I popped them out and then covered with Sweet Apple CS Chalk Cloud by pouncing on with my Smoothie to get a good coverage. I inked up the Woodware Crazy Mosaic Background with Toasted Rose Chalk Cloud and stamped onto the flourishes.
I made a couple of flowers out of more of my mopped up ink background and Black Card using Sue Wilson's Succulent Garden and Sweet Williams Die Sets. I added a little Toasted Rose Chalk Cloud to the tips of the petals and a 5mm Black Pearl to the centres.
I completed my card by adding a Small Black Circle Dazzler to each corner of my background.

One Day Special Shows on Hochanda today
Hi Bloggers.
I'm launching a new One Day Special on Hochanda today at 6pm with the lovely Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Cloud Inks. There's another show today at 8pm today and then more shows at 9am, 1pm and 5pm tomorrow. I have lots of techniques to share with you so I hope you can join me.
Here's today's card -
Whilst prepping for this ODS, I have been very good and I've been mopping up all waste Chalk Cloud Ink from my Craft Sheet onto pieces of Coconut White Card and I've got some really lovely backgrounds to use. This is one such background - the main colours on this one are Blue Lagoon, Toasted Rose and Sweet Violet. I stamped the Woodware Travel Background on top using Onyx Black Versafine Ink and edged with Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie.
I covered a Pop-em from the Arty Hearts Set with a little White Gesso (it's not necessary to cover the Pop-ems with Gesso but on this occasion, I wanted the inks to be the same colour as on the rest of my card). I added Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud and edged with Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud. I stamped the sentiment from the Woodware Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set using Versafine. I made a flower out of some more of my background and Coconut White and Black Card using Sue Wilson's Sweet Williams Die Set, edging the petals with Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud.
I wrapped a piece of Sheer Iridescent Ribbon around and knotted a couple more pieces to it. I added another flower, made as before but with larger dies from the set.
I matted onto Black Card and then Coconut White Card. I completed my card by adding a 3mm Black Pearl to the centres of my flowers and a 5mm Black Pearl to each corner.
I'm offering 10% discount on items I have on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tomorrow night or while stocks last. Discount will be applied automatically at checkout.
I've loaded pics of samples and experiments using the Chalk Clouds into the Gallery Section of this Blog and to my Julia Watts Crafts Facebook Page.
See you at 6pm!

Monday Sneak Peek
Hi Bloggers.
Well, that was a busy weekend! Today I'll be catching up on post and doing some final prep for tomorrow night's One Day Special on Hochanda.
Here's today's sneak peek -
For the background, I popped some CS Marigold Metallic Lustre Paint, CS Chocolate Gold Metallic Lustre Paint and CS Tarnished Silver Shimmer Paint in separate areas on my Craft Sheet. I picked each paint up in turn onto a Natural Sponge, removing some of the excess before dabbing it all over a piece of Coconut White Card.
I matted onto Black Card and popped onto Coconut White Card.
I stamped the Woodware Tractor onto Watercolour Card using Black Onyx Versafine Ink. I coloured in using CS Essentials Watercolour Palette and a Water Brush. I added a little Graphmaster BG1 Alcohol Marker around the edges of the windows. I cut it out using scissors leaving a small white border.
I stamped a sentiment onto Coconut White Card using Versafine Ink. I cut it out using Sue Wilson's Pierced Flags.
I stamped another sentiment onto Coconut White Card. I cut it out using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Squares Set B.
I painted some Cogs Pop-ems with the 3 paints I used for the background. I used various thicknesses of the Lustre Paints which, when heated to dry, give different textures. I added them to my card using CS Glue.
