Triple Happy Birthday Background with Cake
Hi Bloggers.
Well we had a fab day yesterday with Leonie. I've put some pics at the end of this post.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I dabbed some Sweet Violet CS Chalk Cloud onto my Craft Sheet. I misted it with a little water and picked it up onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I used die #2 from Sue Wilson's Stitched Square Peg Board to cut a square from my background.
I cut the Triple Happy Birthday Die from a piece of Black Card - I used the fall away pieces on another project (tomorrow's post) and used the waste as a mask. I inked through it several times all over my card with Princess Pink CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie.
I matted onto a piece of Coconut White Card using die #3 from the Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set. I cut die #4 from the set, again out of Coconut White Card but this time I edged with Princess Pink Chalk Cloud.
I cut Sue's Make a Cake Die Set out of Coconut White Card, Silver Mirror Card and more of my background. I coloured the candles using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers.
I cut the Alphabet Grid die out of Baby Pink and Coconut White Card.
I cut a couple of penants out of Coconut White Card using Sue's Celebrations Shadow Box Die Set. I wrapped them around a piece of Pastel Baker's Twine and added my numbers from the Alphabet Grid.
Thanks for stopping by.

Simple Alphabet Grid Card
Hi Bloggers.
Heading out early today to set up for my workshop with Leonie Pujol. It's going to be busy!
Here's a quickie card for today -
I started by cutting Sue Wilson's Alphabet Grid Die out of Coconut White Card. I put the letters away into a sectioned box and then added die #2 from Sue's Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set and cut.
I used another Alphabet Grid die cut as a mask and inked through it onto a square piece of Coconut White Card with Blue Lagoon CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I added my clean Alphabet Grid Die Cut, offsetting it slightly.
I cut one of the border dies from the Ecliptic Edger Die Set out of Coconut White Card 4 times and glued them to the back of my grid.
I matted onto Coconut White Card using CE Mounting Cushion, then to Duck Egg Card using CS Glue and them Coconut White Card using Mounting Cushion.
I added my sentiment from tiles cut using the Alphabet Grid out of Coconut White and Duck Egg Card.
I cut a candle out of Coconut White and Duck Egg Card using the Celebrations Shadow Box Die Set adding Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers.
Thanks for stopping by.

Gingerbread Cookie
Hi Bloggers.
I had a lovely day at Amelia's Crafts in Studley yesterday. Lovely store if you're in the area anytime, it's well worth a visit.
Here's today's card -
I started by stamping the Creative Expressions Gingerbread Cookie Stamps to Die For onto Milk Card using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments Stamp Set in the centre. I cut out using the largest die in Sue Wilson's Scalloped Snowflake Frame Die Set.
I coloured the gingerbread men in by adding some Terracotta CS Chalk Cloud to my Craft Sheet and picking it up with a Water Brush. I coloured the ribbons on the image with Rich Crimson Intense Pigment Stain - I popped a drop in a Palette and picked it up with the tip of a Water Brush. I added the buttons using Christmas Red Stickles.
I cut the largest die in the Scalloped Snowlake Frame again but this time out of Rich Red Card. I cut the largest die in Sue's Looped Snowflake Frame out of Antique Gold Pearl Card and stacked all my die cuts up.
For the background, I ran a piece of Milk Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Gingerbread Men Mask. Leaving the mask in place, I inked through it with Terracotta CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I removed the mask and inked around the edges with Terracotta Chalk Cloud. I matted onto Rich Red Card and then Antique Gold Pearl Card.
I cut the corner from Sue's Poinsettia Flourish and Corner Die Set out of Rich Red Card 4 times and added them to the corners of my background using CS Glue in a Woodware Fine Tip Glue Applicator.
Thanks for stopping by.

Poinsettia Easel Card
Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
This is actually an easel card -
I started by creating my card blank. I folded a piece of Milk Card in half and trimmed it to 5 1/2" square. I scored one side of the card 2 3/4"in.
For the front (top) of my card. I trimmed another piece of Milk Card to 5 1/2" square. I matted a piece of Brunswick Green onto it. I added this to the front flap of my card.
I cut another piece of Milk Card - to 5 1/4" square. I popped the Holly Background Mask on top and inked through it with Subtle Sage CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I then inked around the edges with Subtle Sage. I added this to the front of my card.
I stamped the Poinsettia Coronet onto Milk Card using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments Stamp Set in the centre.
I coloured in using Subtle Sage and Terracotta Chalk Clouds by adding a little ink to my Craft Sheet and picking it up with a Water Brush. I added a little Clear Star Stardust Pen to the centre of the flower. I cut the image out using the largest die in Sue Wilson's Art Deco Snowflake Die Set. I cut a mat out of Brunswick Green Card using the largest die in Sue's Scalloped Snowflake Frame Die Set.
I cut the corner from Sue's Poinsettia Flourish & Corner Die Set out of Brunswick Green Card 4 times. I arranged the die cuts around the edges of the background, making them 'hold hands'.
I cut the single Poinsettia from the same set out of Milk Card 4 times. I pounced Terracotta CS Chalk Cloud onto them using a Smoothie. I added some spots of Clear Star Stardust Pen.
I created another Holly Background Mask background and matted onto Brunswick Green Card. I added this to the base of my card.
I cut the poinsettia border from Sue's Poinsettia Flourish & Corner Die Set out of Brunswick Green Card. I added a little 2mm Foam Tape and added to my base as a stopper. I cut the single poinsettia out of Milk Card. I inked it with Terracotta Chalk Cloud. I added some dots of Clear Star Stardust Pen and added it to my stopper.
Phill Martin is continuing with his One Day Special on Hochanda today with shows at 7am (Netherlands), 9am, 1pm and 5pm. I'm offering 10% discount on items from the shows. You can find them here. Sparkly Intense Pigment Stain Acetate
Hi Bloggers.
This card was the first one I demoed in the One Day Special this week. It's a very simple card but contains a cool technique.
For the background, I ran a piece of Milk Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Frosted Window Embossing Folder. I edged with Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I matted ontp a couple of pieces of Milk Card that I also edged with Blue Lagoon.
I popped some CS Clear Varnish Lacquer onto my Craft Sheet. I added some Bluebell CS Intense Pigment Stain and some Sparkle Star CS Diamond Frost and mixed well. I added this to a piece of Heat Emboss Acetate using a wide brush and put aside to dry (about an hour).
I cut dies #3 and #4 together from Sue Wilson's Art Deco Snowflake Die Set out of Milk Card. I cut die #4 out of my Acetate background and glued the 2 die cuts together.
I cut dies #1 and #2 together out of Milk Card. I cut die #2 out of my Acetate background and glued the 2 die cuts together.
I cut the snowflake from Sue's Looped Snowflake Frame out of Milk card and added a 5mm Cream Pearl.
I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments Stamp Set using Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags and cut the next sized die out of my Acetate Background. I cut 3 more snowflakes out of Milk Card, adding Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud to 2 of them.
I completed my card by adding an 8mm Cream Pearl to each corner.
Phill Martin is launching a new One Day Special on Hochanda today at 6pm with his new Scribbled Dies Collection. I'm offering 10% discount on items from the shows. You can find them here. Star Shaker Card Sneak Peek
Hi Bloggers.
I have a shaker card for your sneak peek today -
I started by cutting the largest die from Sue Wilson's Radiating Star Die Set out of Acetate. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Crystal Stars to a Star Treat Cup and sealed them in with CS Glue and my Acetate star. I put aside to set/dry.
I misted a piece of Coconut White Card with water. I sprinkled over some CS Aqua Lagoon Pixie Powder and put aside to dry.
I cut an aperture out of Coconut White Card using the largest die in Sue's Poinsettia Star Die Set. I ran the background through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Candy Burst Embossing Folder.
I cut die #1 from Sue's Radiating Star out of Coconut White Card.
I cut die #4 from the set out of Coconut White Card and dies #3 and #4 out of Coconut White Card. I glued the 2 die cuts together. One the glue was dry, I slotted in die #2 and cut to create a frame.
I made a frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B.
I then started to construct my card. I glued the inner Radiating Star die cut to a section of my Pixie Powder Background. I glued the Treat Cup to this and then slotted my embossed aperture piece over the top of the Treat Cup. I glued my star frame around this.
I added my square frame using 2mm Foam Tape. I matted onto Coconut White Card that I edged with Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud. I matted onto another piece of Coconut White Card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments using Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud applying the ink with a Smoothie. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags. I added a couple of snowflakes cut from my Pixie Powder Background using die #1 from Sue's Looped Snowflake Frame.
I completed my card by adding some White Pearls to the corners of my frame and the centre of the snowflake.

Chalk Clouds and the lovely Woodware Travel Background
Hi Bloggers.
I have a demo card from my last set of Hochanda shows for you today. I have already blogged this in a different colourway (here) but this is so pretty, I thought it derserved it's day on the blog -
I've used one of my mopped up waste ink backgrounds - Chalk Clouds in Enchanted Blossom, Sweet Violet, Gentle Lavender and Terracotta.
I stamped the Woodware Travel Background on top using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I trimmed my piece and edged with Terracotta Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie.
I wrapped a piece of Sheer Iridescent Ribbon around the bottom section and them matted onto Black Card and popped onto a Coconut White Card blank.
I added CS White Gesso to an Arty Heart Pop-em. Once dry, I added Terracotta Chalk Cloud and then pounced through a section of the Celtic Vine Mask with Gentle Lavender Chalk Cloud. I edged the Pop-em with Enchanted Blossom Chalk Cloud.
I made a couple of flowers out of more of my mopped up waste ink background using Sue Wilson's Sweet Williams Die Set.
I completed my card by adding a 5mm Black Pearl to the centre of the flowers.
Francoise Read has shows on Hochanda today at 11am, 3pm and 7pm with the cute stamp sets from her Christmas release. I'm offering 10% discount on items from the shows that I have in stock on my website. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight today only or while stocks last. Chalk Clouds on Black Card
Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I used Natural Sponges and CS Chalk Clouds - Enchanted Blossom, Blue Lagoon and Sweet Violet onto Black Card. My Natural Sponges were just pliable - not wet, barely damp. This is important so that the ink in the Chalk Cloud pots isn't diluted. I cut my background out using Sue Wilson's Essential Pierced Rectangles. I edged with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie. I used a White Pen to scribble around the edges. I matted onto some bright pink card from my stash and popped onto a Black Card blank.
I stamped one of the images from the Woodware Eyes Stamp Set onto Black Card using Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud, applying the ink with a Smoothie. I cut it out using Sue's Double Pierced Squares and inked around the edges with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I doodled in 2 of the corners with my White Pen. I cut a mat out of my bright pink using the next sized die in Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B.
I placed my Eye topper onto my background and positioned the flourish on the Every Child Mask just below my topper. I drew through the mask with my White Pen.
I stamped the sentiment from the Woodare Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set onto Black Card using Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags and cut a mat out of bright pink card using the next sized die in the set.
I painted an Arty Hearts Pop-em with CS Black Gesso. Once the Gesso was dry, I edged the heart with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I selected a word from the Every Child Mask and inked through the mask onto the Pop-em with Sweet Violet Chalk Cloud. I added some White Pen to the sentiment panel and the Pop-em.

Succulents and Chalk Clouds
Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
The background is one of my mopped up from waste ink backgrounds - the CS Chalk Clouds used are Terracotta, Blue Lagoon, Pink Princess, Gentle Lavender and Subtle Sage. I edged the background with Subtle Sage using a Smoothie. I matted onto Black Card and then Coconut White Card.
I stamped the sentiment and the image from the Woodware Succulents Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I coloured in using Chalk Clouds - Terracotta, Blue Lagoon, Pink Princess and Subtle Sage. I popped some ink onto my Craft Sheet using a Smoothie and picked the ink up using a Water Brush. Any waste ink, I misted with water and picked up onto another piece of card to use for a future project.
I cut out using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Rectangles and inked through the die with Subtle Sage using a Smoothie. I cut a mat out of Black Card using Sue's Double Pierced Rectangles Set B.
I made a flower out of more of my Chalk Cloud background card using Sue's Sweet Williams Die Set and added a 5mm Black Pearl to the centre. I added some Subtle Sage Chalk Cloud to my Craft Sheet, misted it with water and rubbed some Blue White American Seam Binding into it. I repeated the process until all my ribbon was coloured. It's very subtle (as the name of the ink suggests!) - looks a bit darker in real life than on camera. I dried my ribbon using a Heat Tool and tied a bow.
I completed my card by adding a Small Black Circle Dazzler to each corner.
Phill Martin has just launched his new Scribbled Collection of dies. You can find them on my website here.

Party Pigs have fun!
Hi Bloggers.
Had a brilliant day yesterday with my workshop ladies. My next workshop is in just 4 weeks on Saturday 19th August with special guest Lisa Horton. Bookings are being taken now via my website here.
I have a fun card for you today -
The background is one of my many mopped up ink backgrounds. This one is with various Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Clouds. There's a bit of Toasted Rose, Princess Pink, Terracotta and Bundled Sage on this one.
I stamped the Woodware Party Pigs and a couple of the sentiments from the same set using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I trimmed my piece and edged with Princess Pink CS Chalk Cloud using a Smoothie.
I decided to make the background most of the colouring on the pigs. I added a few highlights though on the hats and the dickie bow. I popped a little Bundled Sage and Princess Pink Chalk Cloud into their respective pot lids using Smoothies. I picked the colour up using a Water Brush and added as shown.
I matted onto Black Card and then popped onto a Coconut White Card blank. I finished my card by adding a 5mm Black Pearl to each corner.
Thanks for stopping by.

Never any waste with Chalk Clouds!
Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
This is one of my favourite samples from the Chalk Clouds One Day Special that I did on Hochanda last month. I love the backgrounds you can create from the waste ink.
To re-cap, the background is created from misting waste ink on my Craft Sheet with water and then picking it up onto some Coconut White Card. I like to do this one colour at a time and allow each one to dry before adding another. This way the colours stay separate and layer on top of one another.
This background comprises Enchanted Blossom, Subtle Sage and Terracotta.
I stamped the Woodware Mosiac Background onto my Chalk Cloud Background using Onyx Black Versafine Ink. I cut it out using Sue Wilson's Essential Sized Rectangles. I matted onto Black Card and popped onto a Coconut White Card blank.
I stamped the sentiment from the Woodware Vintage Inspiration Stamp Set using Versafine Ink. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags and cut the next sized die out of Black Card.
I created another background with just Enchanted Blossom Chalk Cloud. I made a flower from it using Sue's Succulent Garden Die Set and added a Small Black Dazzler to the centre. I cut a couple of leaves out of Black Card using Sue's Whimsical Leaves Die Set.
I am running a Chalk Clouds Masterclass up at Creative Expressions on Wednesday 6th September. We'll be using Chalk Clouds with various techniques and also looking at Distress Oxides. Places are limted to just 8 people. You can book via my website here.
