Shaving Foam & Pigment Stain Weave

Here's today's card -

For the weave on this one, I started by creating some Shaving Foam Backgrounds with Bluebell, Citrus Lime and Rose Pink CS Intense Pigment Stains. I cut the Intermediate Weaving Die out of the first generation print from the Shaving Foam, 3rd generation print and out of Coconut White Card twice. To fit the smallest frame possible from the Stitched Square Peg Board, you need to extend the weft. So, I cut an extra strip from my first generation background and another strip of Coconut White. I glued a Coconut White die cut to my first generation cut, offsetting it to fill in the gaps but dropping it down to leave a space at the top and the bottom.I then added my extra strips.

I added my other Coconut White Die Cut to my 3rd generation cut, offesetting it to fill in all the gaps. I cut it into pieces 2 strips wide and then wove the strips through my extended piece.

I made a frame out of Coconut White Card using dies #2 and #4 from the Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set and added it to my woven background using 2mm Foam Tape trimming away the excess with scissors. I matted onto a couple of pieces of Coconut White Card.

I cut the Make a Cake die out of Coconut White Card, Silver Mirror Card and from my 3rd generation background. I coloured the candles using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers.

I made my flowers from Coconut White and 1st generation background using the Pinwheel Floral Die Set and cut the leaves out of Coconut White Card using the same die set. I added an 8mm White Pearl to the centre of my flower.

I completed my card by adding a 5mm White Pearl to the corners of my frame.

Happy Day with Cake!

Hope you enjoyed the One Day Special Shows. I'm spending today getting my website orders sorted and packing the kits for my workshop with Leonie on Saturday.

Here's today's card -

I started by just cutting die #1 from Sue Wilson's Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set into a piece of Lilac Card. I cut Sue's Alphabet Grid Die out of Coconut White Card twice. I used one of the waste (well it's not really waste!) pieces to add to my background.

I made a frame using dies #2 and #4 from Sue's Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I added it to my background using Woodware Foam Tape, trimming away the excess using scissors. I made another frame out of Lilac Card using dies #3 and #4 from the Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set and added it to my white frame using CS Glue. I matted onto 2 layers of Coconut White Card.

I added my letters for my sentiment cut using the Alphabet Grid Die - I have quite a collection of letters now!

I cut the elements from Sue's Make a Cake Die Set out of Coconut White, Lilac and Silver Shine Pearl Card. I added Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers to the flames on the candles.

Sunday Sneak Peek

I'm back home now. I'll be catching up with as many of my website orders that I can today and spending the next couple of days getting my demos together for the One Day Special that I'm launching on Tuesday.

I thought that you might like to see an sneak peek from the One Day Special?

The background has been created using the smallest die in Sue's Stitched Square Peg Board Die Set. It's easy to extend the design by slotting the end row or 2 back into place and cutting again. I've cut it out of Coconut White Card, matted onto Primrose Card and another piece of Coconut White.

I cut dies #3 and #4 from Sue's Jennifer Die Set out of Primrose Card and just die #4 out of Coconut White Card. I glued the 2 die cuts together and added them to my background using CE Mounting Cushion.

I built up a cake on a stand out of Coconut White, Primrose and Gold Mirror Card using Sue's Make a Cake Die Set. I coloured the flames on the candles using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Markers.

I cut Sue's Alphabet Grid out of Primrose Card twice and Coconut White Card twice ( I needed two 'O's). I added my sentiment using CE Mounting Cushion under each tile.

I completed my card by adding a 5mm White Pearl to each corner.

I'm heading over to Hochanda this morning to do some filming with some of my CE Teamies (I'll say no more!). Experimenting

A bit if a different kind of post today. I'm busy planning the projects for my next workshop in Yardley Gobion on July 22nd and I got a bit distracted making backgrounds. I thought I would share them with you.

I've been using Lisa Horton's Tropical Island A6 Background. I've used similar colours across the products used so that it's easy to compare the results.

On the one below, I have used Graphmaster Brush Markers - using the markers directly onto the stamp and then misted with water. The one on the top is first generation, the one below is second generation after re-spritzing with water.

In the samples below, I have used Koi Brush Markers directly onto the stamp again and then misted with water. The one on the top is first generation, the one below is second generation after re-spritzing with water.

In the samples below, I have used Distress Markers - Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade, directly onto the stamp again and then misted with water. The one on the top is first generation, the one below is second generation after re-spritzing with water.

I like using pens in this way, directly onto the stamp - you can be very specific as to where the colour goes or you can be as random as you like. As you can see, all the pens I've used work equally well.

Moving onto using some inks on to the stamps.

Below, I have used some of the new Phill Martin Colour Clouds applying the ink to the stamp via Smoothies. I used Lush Pink, Purple Paradise and Tangy Tangerine. The second impression is second generation after misting the stamp with water.

Below, I have used Distress Oxides in Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick. applying the ink with Smoothies. The second impression is second generation after misting the stamp with water.

Below, I have used CS Chalk Clouds in Terracotta, Sweet Violet and Princess Pink applying the ink with Smoothies. The second impression is second generation after misting the stamp with water.

Back to Distress Markers again and this time with Lisa's Daisy Illusion A6 Background. I've used Fossilized Amber and Picked Raspberry, directly onto the stamp and then misted with water. The one on the top is first generation, the one below is second generation after re-spritzing with water.

Another with Distress Markers - this time Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord randomly across the stamp, and then misted with water. The one on the top is first generation, the one below is second generation after re-spritzing with water.

I hope you've found these useful. I now have lots more backgrounds to make into cards.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I embossed a piece of Coconut White Card using the Spellbinders Flowers and Leaves Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design - it's not a repeating pattern but is a busy design so easy to hide the join. I wrapped a piece of Craft Consortium Floral Notes Lace Ribbon around the background towards the left-hand side.

I cut the largest die and the next sized die together in the Spellbinders Waterlillies Decorative Accents Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I put aside the die cut from the inner die for another project. I left the largest die in place and drew around the inside with Carved Pumpkin Distress Marker.

I popped a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I cut the second largest die in the Spellbinders Jeweled Frame Die Set from it and then added CS Diamond Sprinkles.

I stamped the image from the Spellbinders Floral Bouquet onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. I coloured in using Distress Markers - Carved Pumpkin, Abandonned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Milled Lavender, Shabby Shutters and Crushed Olive. I cut it out using the die from the same set.

I stamped the words from the Spellbinders Journal Words Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival. I trimmed them down using scissors and edged them with Carved Pumpkin Distress Marker.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of White Craft Consortium Satin Ribbon and added a Craft Consortium Pearl Heart Charm.

I assembled the card as shown adding an 5mm White Pearl to the corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Snowflake Kisses

I managed to have a very quick play with some of Lisa Horton's new Christmas Stamps -

 I've used Lisa's Snowflake Kisses Stamp Set and Midnight Waltz Stamp Set. I've stamped using Stormy Sky Distress Ink and Jet Black Archival.

I coloured in the 'snowflake kisses' with Stormy Sky Distress Marker - and actually wished I hadn't as it popped more if I had left it white. Oh well! So, to try and bring it back, I added some Quickie Glue and CS Sparkle Star Diamond Frost.

I'm itching to spend more time on these stamps and as I said, I will definately be using them in my Christmas Workshops.
