Well-behaved Women

Hi Bloggers.

Hope you're enjoying your bank holiday weekend. Here's today's card -

Another one of my busy backgrounds here. I used Coconut White Card. With the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped the Hexagon Script Stamp using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. Using the same method, I stamped the Rose Background using Tea Dye Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Exotic Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern and then edged with Gathered Twigs using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Elegant Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Umber and Dark Spice from the Autumn Shades Set, Sunflower from the Summer Fayre Set and Cosmic Tone from the Skin Tones Set. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Gathered Twigs. I cut the second smallest size of the Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals 1 out of Black Card. At the emboss stage I added the Exotic Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using the smallest of the Grand Decorative Ovals Dies with the sentiment to the right-hand side. I inked through the die with Gathered Twigs.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Black Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Light Brown Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Dark Bronze around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

All the Rules

Hi Bloggers.

A card from the ladies shows today.

I started with a piece of Coconut White Card for the background. I dusted it with my anti static bag and, with the stamp in my hand, randomly stamped the A6 Rose Background (more on order) with Perfect Medium. I added Cosmic Shimmer Tropic Blaze Aqua Embossing Powder from the Brights Set and heat set. Then, again with the stamp in my hand, I filled in the gaps with the A6 Art Collage Stamp using Stormy Sky Distress Ink. I blotted the background with a piece of kitchen roll to remove the ink from the embossed areas (it won't dry) and edged with Stormy Sky using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Creative Expressions Party Ladies Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Blue Lace and Blue Cotton from the Soft Velvet Set, Cosmic Tone and Caramel Blush from the Skin Tones Set. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 25 and inked through the die with Stormy Sky.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Card Creator Distressed Edges and inked through the die with Stormy Sky.

I tied a bow using Blue/White Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and added a Frosted Blue Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Summer Blue around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

You Hold the Key

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background. I inked through the Delicate Mask with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I move the mask to extend the design. Then, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped the French Script Stamp from the Creative Expressions Texture Stamp Set using Dusty Concord. I made sure the ink was dry and then I dusted the whole area with my anti static bag. I randomly stamped the key stamp from the Creative Expressions From the Heart Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Blue Maroon Aurora Embossing Powder from the Pinks & Purples Set. I edged the background with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the From the Heart Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with the Blue Maroon Aurora Powder. I then stamped the frame around the sentiment using the same ink and powder. I cut the rubber away from the centre of my frame so I could line it up with the sentiment. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 4 Small and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany. I cut a mat out of purple card using Spellbinders Labels 4.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Cream Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Fancy Pearl Embellishment and a couple of Decorative Stick Pins. I pressed a key from the Assorted Key Charms Pack into the Perfect medium Ink pad a covered with Blue Maroon Aurora Powder. I tapped off the excess and heat set. I glued this at the base of my bow with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Celebrate with Style

Hi Bloggers.

Today's card is another one that I made whilst demoing at Melbicks.

For the background, I stamped around the edges of some Burgundy Card with the Pre Cut Elemental Swirl Stamp (coming to my Amazon Store soon) with Jet Black Archival. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with  the Creative Expressions Floral Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern.

The image and the sentiment are from another Pre Cut Set - Pure Elegance. I stamped the image and the sentiment that comes with it using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Scarlet Flame and Marigold from the Autumn Shades Set, Sunflower from the Summer Fayre Set and Cosmic Tone from the Skin Tones Set. I cut out using Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I made a flower using the Floral Embossing Folder, Coconut White Card and Aged Mahogany Distress Ink - you can see how to do this in this video tutorial. I added a couple of Black Swirls.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of May Arts Ribbon and added a Black Dazzler.

I added my design to some mats that had some dry dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate!

Hi Bloggers.

I thought I'd share a card today that I made when I was demoing at Melbicks Garden Centre earlier this month.

For the background, I inked through the Eyelet Lace Mask with Fired Brick Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam. I moved the mask along the card to extend the design. I then stamped around the edges of the card using the Elemental Swirl Singles Stamp (coming to my Amazon Store soon!) with Fired Brick. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Bouquet Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern (it's so busy you can't see the join) and then inked around the edges with Fired Brick.

I stamped the image from the Heart and Soul Singles Pre Cut Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Scarlet Flame and Marigold from the Autumn Shades Set, Soft Moss and Meadow Lime from the Garden Twist Set. I cut it out using Spellbinders Stately Circles and inked through the die with Fired Brick.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the shoe, again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles and inked through the die with Fired Brick.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Red Sheer Wrinkled Edge Ribbon and added a Medium Circle Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding my front to some mats which already had dry dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Berry Red around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to visit Kathryn's blog yesterday. She was thrilled to have had so many page views and comments.

Back to pink and white today.

I dusted a piece of Pastel Pink Card with an anti-static bag and stamped the sentiment from the Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer White Detail Embossing Powder. I then stamped the Floral Scroll Stamp (I cut the solid piece of rubber from the centre of my stamp so I could see where to place it around my sentiment) again using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer White Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Elegant Labels Four and inked through the die with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Pastorale Embossing Folder (the card was a little wider than the folder. I stamped along the top and the bottom with the Singles Leafy Swirl Stamp using Spun Sugar. I then inked around all the edges with Spun Sugar using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut the single flower from the Spellbinders Floral Corner 1 Die D-Lites set 4 times out of Pastel Pink Card. I added 1 to each corner of the background and added a 5mm White Pearl to the centre of each one.

I tied a bow using White Satin Edged Organza Ribbon and added a Medium Circle Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding some left-over bits from a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Pink around the edges.

Blog Candy Winner

Hi Bloggers.

I've been so busy over the last week that I neglected to post some new candy for when we reach 800 followers and we passed that today!

So, I've posted up some new candy for when we reach 900 followers and I have drawn a winner for some candy right now as we have passed the 800 mark.

The winner is ...........CRAFTY JEN who wins a pot of Cosmic Shimmer Golden Green Sparkle Embossing Powder and a pot of Cosmic Shimmer Iced Crystal Glitter Jewels.

Please email me at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com with your address and I'll pop them in the post to you.

All for now.

Julia.

Happy Father's Day

Hi Bloggers.

My daughter, Kathryn, has just started a blog (not a crafty one). If any of you would like to go and have a look then you'll find it at http://cat-gotyourtongue.blogspot.co.uk/

I've had a request for me to share a card made with the Vintage Car Pre-Cut Stamp. I made 2 cards with this stamp so I don't know if this is the one that's wanted or not.

I stamped the Vintage Car using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Black Detail Embossing Powder. I stamped the sentiment below it, again using Perfect Medium and embossed with the Black Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One and inked through the die with Black Soot Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut the next but one of the Grand Decorative Labels One dies and after embossing, left the card in the die. Using the stamp in my hand I randomly stamped the A6 Newsprint Stamp and the A6 Plaid Stamp using Black Soot. I made sure that the edges of the die were cleaned of ink and that the stamped areas were dry and then inked through the die with Black Soot.

I layered the two Labels die cut on top of one another with 3d foam and added some Black/Ivory Grosgrain tied in a knot.

Let me know if this isn't the right card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I placed the Knitted Mask at a jaunty angle onto some Coconut White Card and spritzed with Purple Violet from the Cosmic Shimmer Breeze Blush Acrylic Misting Inks Set.

I stamped the Perfect Poppy Single Stamp using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer White Detail Embossing Powder. I also stamped the sentiment which comes with the poppy again using the Perfect Medium and embossed with the white powder. I cut it out using Spellbinder 5 x 7 Matting Basics B and inked through the die with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I cut a mat out again using the Matting Basics B.

I popped some Double Sided Adhesive onto some card and die cut Spellbinders Die D-Lites Medallion 8. I did not use the little centre circle die. I peeled off the baking. I added Vintage Violet Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter. I really rubbed it in to make sure that the fine glitter really covered the surface. The more you rub, the less it will shed. I added a Medium Circle Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Pearl Swirls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in white around the edges.

For those of you who have asked, I have ordered some Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter for my Amazon Store. I have also ordered some Gilding Flakes and some Gilding Wax. Hopefully they will be here after Easter.

Thanks for stopping by.

Filigree Vase

Hi Bloggers.

Thank you for all your kind comments, especially over this last week, both here on the blog and in the emails sent to the studio. It's much appreciated and I'm glad that you have enjoyed the shows and perhaps learned one or two new techniques.

Yesterday afternoon, I popped some more stamps on my Amazon Store. You can find A6 Background stamps here. I've got some of the new pre-mounted and cut Singles Stamps which you can find here. I have been asked to get the Wedding Stamp Sets that I did on shows recently and you can find them here and here (sorry there's no picture of Wonderful Beginnings yet). I have also re-stocked Elegant Ladies, Party Ladies, Cheers and Classic Sentiments Stamp Sets as requested.

There have been quite a lot of orders during this past week and stocks are low on a number of items so I'll be re-stocking those as soon as possible. I have nearly caught up with orders and I should be back to normal from Monday.

I'm at Milton Keynes Cardiac Group today helping with their craft day. If you're in the area, please pop along. There's lots of different crafts to try.

Here's today's card -

This is such a simple card to make. Using Milk Card and the inner die to cut the Spellbinders Filigree Vase as an aperture within the Spellbinders 5 x 7 Matting Basics B. I cut a cobalt mat out of Cobalt Card again using the Matting Basics B.

I cut the largest of the 5 x 7 Elegant Labels 4 out of Milk Card.  I tied a bow using Blue/Ivory Grograin Ribbon and added a Large Square Dazzler.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream Self Adhesive Pearls. I did some faux stitching around the edges with a Blue Fine Liner Pen.

Thanks for stopping by.

For You

Hi Bloggers.

One for the guys today -

For the background, I dusted a piece of Coconut White Card with an anti static bag, inked the Chicken Wire Mask with Perfect Medium and popped it on top of the card. I ran it through the Grand Calibur with the embossing sandwich. The Perfect medium transfers to the debossed pattern. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Silver Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.

I stamped the Gothic Gateway stamp using Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I cut it out using Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels 4 and inked through the die with Pumice Stone using Cut n Dry Foam. As you can see, I did not use the whole die.

I cut the Spellbinders Die  D-Lite Bonsai Tree out of Black Card, removed it from the die, dusted it with my anti static bag, popped it back in the die, inked through the die with perfect medium, removed it from the die and then dusted with Pewter Grey Mica Powder from the Cosmic Shimmer Golden Winter Mica Spray Set.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Everyday Expressions Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with the Silver Detail Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Die D-Lites Petite Labels 1 and inked through the die with Pumice Stone.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Silver Lustre around the edges.

Last Pick of the Week show today at 9am. Hope you can join me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card - quite a simple one.

I cut 2 Spellbinders Die D-Lites Medallion 7 out of Burgundy Card. I cut it out using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Elegant Labels 4 and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Crazy Daisy Embossing Folder. I inked around the edges with Aged Mahogany.

I threaded some White Silky Crush Ribbon through the centre of the medallions and the sentiment die cut and secured it at the back of the background.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Self Adhesive Pearls to each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Berry Red around the edges.

Extra Show today at 3pm

Hi Bloggers.

Just to let you know that I have an extra show at 3pm today.

All for now.

Julia.

Best Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

I'm glad you're loving the new Polished Silk Glitters. I wish you could all feel how smooth they are. I will be demonstrating the glitters at Ally Pally next month so if you are going then please come and see me and you can have a feel of it.

This was the first card I demoed on Saturday.

I cut the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Floral Border out of Black Card. After embossing I removed it from the die and dusted with my anti static bag. I popped the die cut back in the die and then inked through the die with Perfect Medium. I removed it again and then dusted with the Mustard Green Mica Powder from the Cosmic Shimmer Golden Winter Mica Spray Set.

For the frame, I popped a piece of Double Sided Adhesive onto some card and used 2 of the 5 x 7 Matting Basics B dies to cut the frame. I removed the backing from the adhesive and rubbed some Brilliant Blue Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter into it. I removed the excess and really worked the glitter in. I ran the frame through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Crazy Daisy Embossing Folder. I made the embossing 'pop' by carefully running a Jet Black Archival Ink Pad over the top.

For the background, I used a 5 3/4" square of card with double sided adhesive on it. I dusted the Fretwork Mask lightly with my anti static bag. I popped it onto the double sided adhesive and then added the Sea Green Polished Silk Glitter. I really rubbed it in with my fingers. I made sure all the glitter was removed from my mask and then removed it from the adhesive. I added the Brilliant Blue Glitter and rubbed it into the newly exposed adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment, which comes with the Leafy Swirl Stamp, directly on to the glittered background.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.

My shows today are at 8am, 12noon and 5pm. Hope you can join me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

Inspire

Hi Bloggers.

I've had a request to post this card. I demoed it in one of the shows on Saturday. It was one of Martyn's favourites.

For the background, I used the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Vines of Passion inner die as a mask. I spritzed through it in each corner with the Mallow from the Cosmic Shimmer Summer Twist Acrylic Misting Inks Set. The ink will just wash off with water. I dried it with my heat tool. I then stamped the Beaded Swirl stamp with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. I covered the whole background with a piece of Double-Sided Adhesive and covered it with Clear Glass Micro Beads.

I stamped the Zentangled Heart Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in with some mica powders from the Metallics Set and the Golden Winter Set, the Mallow Acrylic Misting Ink and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I cut it out using the smallest of the Grand Stately Circles Dies and inked through the die with Worn Lipstick using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the heart stamp again using the Jet Black Archival and embossed with the clear powder. I coloured it in using the same set of colours as the heart. I cut it out using the Spellbinders Die D-Lites Ornamental Tags 2 and inked through the die with Worn Lipstick.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream Self Adhesive Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Pink around the edges.

I have Pick of the Week shows at 2pm and 5pm today - hope you can join me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.
