Hi Bloggers.
Another card made from demo bits - there is a mistake on this one. See if you can spot it and I'll tell you at the end of this post.
I stamped the sentiment and the frame from John Lockwood's Scribble Rose Elements Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A and inked through the die using Eggplant Adirondack Die Ink (thank you to Zoe at Strikes, Northwich for letting me borrow hers) and a Smoothie. I swiped a little of the Eggplant Ink and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto my Craft Sheet and used it to paint the flowers using a Water Brush.
I cut the large decorative die from the Spellbinders Lovin' Diamonds Die Set out of Mauve Card and matted it onto a piece of Milk Card cut using the outer die in the Spellbinders Labels One Card Creator Die.
I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Antique White Satin Ribbon and tied another bow using 3 lengths of thinner Light Orchid Satin Ribbon. I nearly added another flower (!) but removed it and added a Dazzler Setting and a Lilac Dazzler instead.
I assembled the card as shown adding a little Purple Dazzler to 3 of the corners and piercing around the edges.
I have a busy couple of weeks ahead with Workshops and Demos. I'm hoping to have my dies today so I can start prepping for my show on May 18th. With that in mind, I'd just like to remind you about my workshops in CE HQ Kettering on May 12th and Milton Keynes on May 16th. Details in the workshops section of this blog or just click on the links I've just given to go to my website to book. I need to be super organised so that I get all the kits cut and the prep for my show done.
So, did you spot my mistake?? The Lovin' Diamonds die cut is upside down! Didn't spot it till I had finished the card - too late then. lol.
Thanks fpr stopping by.
Julia.

Hi Julia. What a good idea putting the hearts upside down! I don't normally buy anything with hearts on but never thought of using them this way. Haha. SueL x

ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteLovely card today. In my favourite colours as well. Didn't notice the diamonds were upside down. I didn't know there was. Right or wrong way up with diamonds. You learn something every day.
Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteLooked again at this card and it's the hearts that were upside down wasn't it. Silly me.
Beautiful card Julia upside down or rightway up makes no odds still the tops. No I didn't spot it love June xx

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card, Julia.

Hi Julia, this is a beautiful card and has a very calm, restful feel to it. Love the dazzler setting.
ReplyDeleteDidn't notice the upside down, makes me feel better to see I'm in good company. I did a card over the wknd using a script emboss folder and when I looked at the card, the writing was upside down ha ha. Hope I get away with it. You wouldn't notice from a galloping horse.
Have a great day, blessings - Deb C xx
Hi Julie this card is lovely, thank you also for the demo for the flower, makes sense to me now lol. Some dies I look at and wonder what the heck can I do with that the Canadian background die was one of them, and guess what I will have to get them all, here's hoping Sue does another pick of the week soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one that NEEDS all the new dies lol..
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your inspiration, I wish I could get to your workshops but as I don't drive and have problems with my back at the moment I will have to keep watching and learning from your, John and Sue's blogs.

Hi Julia, a beautiful card. Wouldn't have noticed the misttake if you hadn't pointed it out!
ReplyDeleteHello Julia and all
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Great layout and lovely colour. After you mentioning it, I looked and looked and couldn't see anything wrong. Even after you said what it was I don't think it was madly obvious, anyway my thought is you could have it embossed or debossed, so it's not wrong after all, lol. Thanks for sharing.
Gosh your going to be very busy, I hope you enjoy it, I'm looking forward to c&c.
Best wishes
Did wonder about the upside down hearts at the top of the card then I realised that the hearts did not change direction as you went round the card, as I expecting (it pointing downwards at the top, pointing to the left and right at the sides and pointing upwards at the bottom), so that it did not matter which way the die was placed, then I realised that would have spoilt the overall look of the pattern. If you don't notice the little hearts it doesn't matter.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteLovely card, the colours work well together and the more I see John's stamps the more I'd like them!
Hadn't twigged it was the diamond die cut which goes to prove that if people don't know what it's supposed to look like it doesn't matter!
Hugs,

Hi Julia, fab card love the colours, I only noticed the upside down because you had said about the mistake in your post so I was looking for it, but no one would ever know if you hadn't of said. Could you tell me if the peach card you used on Mondays card is the same peach you have on your website or is it the soft peach? Take Care Melody xx
ReplyDeleteThe Peach Card used in Monday's card is the one I stock. Currently out of stock but should be picking some more up tomorrow. Just follow the link against the Peach Card in Monday's post and you'll go straight there. Leave it till late afternoon to check.
