Birthday Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

An actual card that I made at my demo on Saturday at Samuel Taylors -

I made a card blank out of Coconut White Card using the largest die from Sue Wilson's Ornate Pierced Rectangles Noble Die Set (just put one of the cutting edges of one side of the die on the outide of the fold of the card).

I cut both pieces of Sue's Canadian Background out of Coconut White Card. I put a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet over the front of the die cut. I turned it over and brushed some of Phill Martin's Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder all over the exposed adhesive - I belive I used Decadent Denim, Decadent Grape and Chic Moss. It's important at this stage to seal in the mica as although you may think you have brushed away the excess, a little always appears from nowhere! I used another piece of Self Adhesive Sheet but you glue it to a piece of card. I turned the background over and removed the other piece of backing. I sprinkles Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Sprinkles all over the surface.

I made a frame using some more dies from Sue's Ornate Pierced Rectangles Die Set from Coconut White and Teal Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags Die Set and cut another die from the same set out of Teal Card.

I cut a couple of leaves out of Coconut White Card using Sue's Maidenhair Fern Die Set and rubbed Phill Martin's Cosmic Shimmer Decadent Teal Gilding Wax over them. I made a couple of Stick Pins using Creative Expressions Stick Pin Elements and a flower out of Felt using Sue's Classic Foldover Flowers Die Set (see my video on how to do this in the Videos section of this blog).

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  17. Morning Julia, a lovely.card, the Canadian background works really well with the noble dies. Sue is right all of her dies are done so you can use them together.
I bought the folded flower die yesterday I didn't have any felt so used foundation card, they came out lovely not quite as fluffy looking as with the felt though. All thanks to your tutorial as I didn't have a clue what to do with the die until I saw your tutorial.
Thanks to you Sue and John for all your inspiration
