Life isn't tied with a bow

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I started with the frame on this one. I cut the largest 2 dies from the Spellbinders Triple Floral Die Set together out of Milk Card. I cut the largest die only from the Spellbinders 6 x 6 Matting Basics A Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I glued the 2 together and put aside for a few minutes for the glue to dry.

In the meantime, I stamped the sentiment from John Lockwood's Fern Elements Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a Spellbinders Triple Tear Die. I cut another Triple Tear Die out of Coconut White Card. I cut a circular die from the Blooming Collection Die Set. This die has a lovely de-boss. I rubbed Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax over the surface of the die cut.

I re-seated the 2nd largest die from the Spellbinders Triple Floral Die Set into my frame to cut the middle from the Coconut White Card cut from the 6 x 6 Matting Basics Die. The reason I waited till the glue was dry before doing this is that the pressure of the Grand Calibur will cause the glue to leak out from under the die cut making it look messy.

I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Creative Expressions Swirling Hearts Embossing Folder. I rubbed Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax over the surface, put aside to dry for a few minutes and once dry buffed up using a dry wet wipe. I added my frame to it using 3D Foam.

I cut the very pretty frame die from the Spellbinders Blooming Collection Die Set out of Milk Card. This is such a delicate die, I think it's best to use Wax Paper with this one.

I tied a knot in a piece of White Tulle. I made a flower using the Spellbinders Flower Play Die Set following Sue's tutorial here and here. I added some Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue and some Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow Glitter Jewels. The 'leaves' are actually taken from the Spellbinders Draping Vines Elements Die Set and cut from Milk Card.

I assembled the card as shown adding an 8mm White Pearl to each corner and piercing around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  28. Lovely ornate card Julia. Went to Harrogate and sought out Phill as you suggested, told him that you had sent me to give him some "trouble". He said to start nagging you to bring out your own range of goodies, although that would mean you would have to stop promoting his stuff!!
