When in doubt shimmy!

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped Phill Martin's Vintage Sheet Music Background  onto a piece of Coconut White Card using Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I repeated the process with Phill Martin's Vintage Script Background using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Buttons Galore Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I rubbed Pearl Moon Gilding Wax all over the embossed surface and put aside to dry for a few minutes. Once dry, I buffed it up using a dry wet wipe. I ran some Blueberry Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles around the edges of the background and put aside to dry.

I stamped the Jive Stamp using Perfect Medium and embossed using Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Black Aurora Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 8 and inked through the die with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I added Blueberry Twinkles to the edges and put aside to dry. I cut a Spellbinders Polka Dots Die out of Mauve Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Step by Step Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Arctic Black Aurora. I cut it out using Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and inked through the die with Dusty Concord. I added Blueberry Twinkles to the edges and put aside to dry. I cut another Spellbinders Polka Dots Die out of Mauve Card.

Once all the Blueberry Twinkles were dry, I wrapped a piece of White Crochet Ribbon around the background. I tied a bow out of the Crochet Ribbon and added a White Crystal Sparkler.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Small Circle Dazzler to each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cosmic Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  15. Hello Julia

I have just had a lovely surprise - your beautiful card sample has just popped through my letterbox! I had no idea that my name had been picked out as I had to go out before the end of your show on CC. I've just watched the end of the recording back - how lucky I am! I had planned to watch the shows this afternoon whilst doing a huge pile of ironing. I've just done a jig around the kitchen - does that count as a dance??? I have been out of touch with blogs and crafting generally due to some very sad bereavements but hope to get back on track soon. Thank you so much - I will treasure it. Bless you. Susan X

  16. Hi Julia

Such a stunning card, as I said before, dance doesn't interest me much but I have to appreciate how much work it takes to dance well, and the artwork of the stamp. Me and dance never got past stomping, moshing and headbanging! All well past that now lol. I need seedless preserves, such a lovely shade, and the buttons folder (it'd go with my collection of sewing related craft items). The background stamps are on their way, yippee!!! The details and the colours/ composition fit so well. A really nice card any one would love to receive

    Crafty hugs
