Wow! What a busy One Day Special - I didn't think it would last but did not expect it to go that quickly. If you missed out, as I write this, I do have just a few left in stock on my website here. I managed to order some more stock yesterday afternoon which I will hopefully pick up when I'm at CE towers on Tuesday for some workshops.
I have added photos of the samples from the One Day Special to my Julia Watts Crafts Facebook Page and to the Gallery page of this blog (accessible via the top menu). I will, of course, share as many of the cards asI can in detail over the next few weeks.
Thank you for your orders over the last couple of days - realistically, I'm not going to get them all sent out today as the Post Office is only open till lunchtime being Saturday. Those that don't make it out today will go out on Monday.
Here's today's card that I didn't manage to demo unfortunately -
My dear friend, Sue Wilson taught me this technique (one of many). I took a piece of Black Gloss Card bigger than I needed. I added CS Dries Clear Glue to cover a rectangle in the centre of the card - completely covering it. I then sprinkled CS Pixie Powders in Midnight Blue, Mango Blaze and Scarlet Mist. Once covered, I heated it from underneath. It bubbles, rises and falls and after a while settles into this gorgeous texture. I matted it onto a piece of Black Card and added it to my background.
I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Applique Flowers Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Detail Embossing Powder. I cutit out using Justrite Vintage Sentiment Tag Dies.

Well done Julia. I have all yesterday's shows to watch as I spent the day travelling. Looking forward to seeing all your techniques with pixie powders. Unfortunately I can't do Tuesday's workshop at CE but hope you'll be able to schedule another or are you doing one in Yardley Gobion using the powders?

Lovely technique this on gloss card, I have watched Sue doing this on one of her CE video's.
Colours on this card are very vibrant, great for men's cards.

ReplyDeleteSuspected you wouldn't get to demo this card if you left it until the next day because it was clear the powders would be sold out so quickly. It would have been nice to see this technique with the pixie powders rather than mic powders as the end product is certainly stunning. Maybe next time!
