Girls Just Want to Have Funds!

Hi Bloggers.

A play on the title of a Cyndie Lauper song with the sentiment on today's post. This was one of the demos on Thursday.

For the background, I added a good quantity of Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress Ink to some Coconut White Card using Cut n Dry Foam. I then spritzed one of the stamps from the Beaded Elements Stamp Set with the Cosmic Shimmer Ink Resist Spray and stamped it onto my background. The resist spray removed the ink from the background leaving a 'bleached' image. I dried the stamp to remove the ink and repeated the process until I was happy with my background.

I wrapped a piece of Light Blue Ruffle Edged Ribbon around the card and wrapped a piece of white crochet ribbon over the top of it.

I stamped Hannah from the Fashionista : A Day Shopping Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured her in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks and then cut her out using Spellbinders Floral Ovals. I inked through the die with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut it out using Matting Basics A and inked through the die with Faded Jeans.

I tied a bow using the Light Blue Ruffle Edge Ribbon. I made a flower out of blue card using the Creative Expressions Floral Embossing Folder. You can watch my YouTube video on how to do this here. I added a couple of White Pearl Decorative Stick Pins.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Summer Blue around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  13. I really like today's card Julia & I loved the flower demo on C&C the otherday. I did watch it over again several times to make sure I'd got it. I don't have that embossing folder, but I've plenty of spellbinder dies I'm sure it applies to! Can't believe you managed it under all that pressure & beat your record! Well done! I have these dies & some nice stamps I'd like to tryout with a layout like this. I have loads of distressed inks & other inks, but I rarely have what you or Sue are using, so I either order it in for future projects or improvise with what I've got. I really liked those inks you used for colouring too. Must of missed previous demos of them, but they seem really simple to use? I have spectrum noir pens, but am a bit afraid to use them as I'm not much of a drawer. I'm a graphic designer by trade. Totally different to drawing! Thanks for the tips, Claire xxx P.S. I'm now officially following as I always comment from my phone, but today I was on my main Mac & saw the following option. Didn't realise I wasn't!!!
