Love

Hi Bloggers.

Thanks for all your emails yesterday - there were loads! As always, your support is much appreciated. I did make a bit of a mess of the last demo though - worst demo I've done on tv so far, I think. I know what went wrong with the snowflake though (I think). I assumed that the double-sided adhesive sheet was stuck on the card. However, I think it had just attached itself at the corners to fool me and the backing of one side hadn't actually been removed which meant that it was harder for me to cut and when I took it out of the die, it wasn't stuck to the card. I was quite tired by then so didn't think to double check it. Pity as I think that's the show that was scheduled to be repeated over night.

Today's card is another from the Card Creator shows.

For the background, I simply ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Spellbinders Ornamental Iron M-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the pattern and then inked around the edges with Dried Marigold Distress Ink.

I cut the largest of the Fancy Ribbon Threader dies out of Foundations Dot and Dash Paper and threaded some Blue White American Seam Binding through it.I cut Polka Dots out of white card and at the emboss stage added the Floral Vines Mask. I inked through the die with Dried Marigold. I cut a frame out using the Jewel Framed Sentiments Set and a 'Love' out of Brass Metal using the same die set. I added a bow tied from the Pastel Baker's Twine Set.

I tied a messy bow using 3 lengths of Blue White American Seam Binding. I stamped 2 flowers from the Button Florals stamp set on to Peach card and embossed them with Cosmic Shimmer True White Embossing Powder. I cut them out, layered them up and added an 8mm White Pearl.

I assembled the card as shown and added some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  3. Hi Julia, love the design and colours of this card. I think you did fantastically on all the shows yesterday, and it is difficult when you have so little time. Loved the demo's especially when you showed how to dot the PVA fon the bauble. Bx

  4. Beautiful card Julia and the colours are lovely...had to record your last show yesterday and looking forward to watching it...I can't believe ideal world/C&C is doing a Spellbinders POTD without you ladies from the Creative Expressions team! Poor choice on their part! Carole Z X

  7. Morning Julia, Firstly, don't beat yourself up about that little blip, it shows you are 'only human' and you redeemed yourself, and it shows us 'mere mortals' how we can get over the situation if it happens to us. See it was all part of your tutorial, wasn't it ha ha.
Now to your card, this is STUNNING, I love the colours you have used, love the die-cuts and the flowers, I love it all, stunning.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  8. If we all worried about what went wrong we wouldnt be crafters(I make more mess ups than cards), things happen and we all know just how GOOD YOU ARE. Loved all that I saw yesterday(didnt see all of it i have to say)you are amazing with your dies.

  9. Good Morning Julia,
You did brilliant on your shows, you are a real gem, loved watching you. Todays card is lovely, the colour, the layout and the little flower, lovely.
The POTD was flat without you and Sue, the demo cards were small and simple, did no-one give you an explaination as to why they did this, especially with 'a world launch' as they put it??? Have a great day everyone.

  10. Julia,
I am really impressed by your energy and creative spirit. To run a business from home, craft at shows, blog daily, and becoming a TV personality wow. I also appreciate that you use dies that I have. Finally I love your choice or colors (just can't change the way I spell color, Sue has adapted, but I hold strong to my roots lol) I love this card... Thanks for making my mornings brighter. Enjoyed your first show yesterday.

  17. Don't worry about the demo, you win some, you lose some, and you are always under pressure - we forgive you! This card is pretty, love the soft colours too.

  18. Hi julia this is Such a lovely card,I wouldn't worry about your little mistake on the last show we all do it and anyway it was fine in the end!! The potd wasn't right without you or sue, I like phil martin but he just wasn't right for the job!!! I can only presume c+c were worried that if sue did the shows it would be a sell out before midnight!!! especially as it was a world exclusive. Love lesley xx

  23. Hello Julia, Todays card is clean and fresh, love the colours and layout. Think I need some Dried Marigold ink, it will compliment my peachy projects.
I saw your first show yesterday, you are an inspiration.
I think C&C have lost the plot, not having you or Sue on the POTD, I only watched 5 minutes of it.
    Take care.
    Have a great day everyone.

  28. I love this card, soft colours very pretty. Your shows were fab yesterday and you covered up the problem with the snowflake really well. We are all human and things don't always go to plan. Some of the presenters would drive me insane with their constant wittering. Haven't enjoyed the potd so hung on to the money for Sunday. I also always love the "accessories" from creative expressions that you and Sue bring they are always fab! I do like Phil but he has been given a terrible job of trying to follow you and Sue and it hasn't quite worked. Why break something that is good? Obviously a man's idea!! Looking forward to Sue on Sunday and you next week!

  29. agree with all the comments Julia, I won't fill your blog with MY comments about Sue and you not presenting the shows that after all way back Sue introduced to the UK. Anyone wishing to join in with my comments look at Sue's blog and take action!! It probably won't achieve anything but who knows? Mabex

  31. Another beautiful card today Julia, will you be at the NEC Birmingham for the craft show? I'd love to meet you in person. You are about the same height as my mum whom I'm trying to persuade to come.
