Here's today's card -
I started by cutting dies #1, #3 and #5 from Sue Wilson's Swirly Vine Background together out of Coconut White Card. It's easier if you cut just the largest die first, then add the #3 die and cut that and finally add the smallest die and cut that.
I placed a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet over the front. I turned it over to reveal the sticky areas and added some CS Pixie Powders. I used Aubergine Dream, Pale Olive, Straw Yellow and Burnt Orange. I removed as much of the excess powder as possible then I spritzed with a little water to wake them up and intensify the colours. It's important at this stage to leave them to dry completely.
Once dry, I glued a piece of white copy paper over the area sealing in any stray powder. I turned my piece over, removed the other backing sheet and rubbed CS Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels over. I used a die from Sue's Double Pierced Squares to cut the background out neatly and matted onto a piece of Coconut White Card.
I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Scribbled Frame Sentiments onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags and cut the next sized die as a mat.
I made a flower using Sue's Cape Daisy Die Set using Coconut White Card and a little Antique Gold Pearl Card.
I assembled the card as shown adding an 8mm White Pearl to the corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, absolutely gorgeous card love the bling and the subtle colour. Finally used my weaving dies again yesterday to make a birthday card after all your great inspiration, I think leaving the ends on make a huge difference don't know if that's what put me off before but really enjoyed this one, so will be using them a lot more now.

Hi Julia. Really lovely card, love the sparkle. The video made me laugh. Didn't recognise Phill at first, surprised he let them paint black stripes on his cheeks, perhaps they did it whilst he was asleep! SueL x
