Sneak Peek

Hi Bloggers.

Today I have a sneak peek from the One Day Special that I'm launching on Hochanda on Thursday night. I have both sets of Sue Wilson's Weaving Dies on the shows (yay!) plus some other lovely dies and goodies. I'm looking forward to showing you as many weaving variations as I can.

Here's today's card -

Ok, so for the wave on this one - I had a piece of Lilac Card which had Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet and CS Diamond Sprinkles on it. I cut Sue's Classic Weaving Die from it, leaving space to hold either side.

I cut Sue's Striped Weaving Die out of Coconut White Card twice. I placed the die cuts on top of each other, offsetting so that the gaps were filled in, securing with glue at both ends (again, I had left space to hold).

4 strips from the Striped Weaving Die = 1 strip from Classic Weaving Die i.e. they're the same width. This means that the weave I've done on this card is pretty quick to achieve.

I cut the Striped Weaving piece into pieces 4 strips wide. I used these to weave in and out of the Lilac Classic Weaving piece.

I cut die #4 from Sue's Ornate Pierced Rectangles Die Set out of Lilac Card. I cut dies #3 and #4 together out of Coconut White Card. I glued the 2 die cuts together and left the glue to dry for half hour or so. I then placed the #2 die in the centre and cut. I added my frame to my woven background using 3D Foam and trimmed away the excess using scissors.

The numbers are from the Justrite Make a Wish Stamp Set, stamped onto Coconut White using Jet Black Archival. I coloured in using Lilac Whisper CS Colour Cloud - I popped a little into the lid of the pot using a Smoothie and then picked it up using a Water Brush to paint. I cut it out using Sue's Happy Birthday Circle Die Set. I cut the next 2 circle dies from the set together out of Lilac Card and the largest of those out of Coconut White Card.

I stamped the sentiment, also from the Justrite Make a Wish Stamp Set, onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using the smallest die in Sue's Pierced Flags and cut the next sized die oit of Lilac Card. I glued the 2 die cuts together, shaped them and tucked them into my frame.

I cut dies #1 and #3 from Sue's Star Flower Cluster out of Coconut White Card and die #2 out of Lilac Card. I added 3mm White Pearls to the centres of the flowers.

I completed my card by adding an 8mm White Pearl to the corners, a Lilac Card mat and popped it all onto a Coconut White Card Blank.

Thanks for stopping by.

  21. I do like these weaving dies as I like the background effects they can produce. Lovely card.

It will be another case of Hochanda catch up on the iPad for your shows, it's a shame that my Sky box that I use to watch Hochanda on FreeSat can't record now I no longer have a subscription. Perhaps I will have to buy a recordable FreeSat box!!

  38. Love this weave card Julia. Going to pinch the idea, if you don't mind. It's good to see some of the 'older' dies being used as I think we all tend to buy new ones & forget about our previously loved ones. Xx
