Hope you enjoyed the Takeover Shows. Today will be spent unpacking getting website orders out - I'll get to as many as I can.
I think it's time we had a bit more weaving!
I cut the coloured die cuts into pairs and wove them through the Coconut White piece as shown, alternating through all the pastel colours of card. You have enough strips of pastel card to make 3 woven backgrounds like this one.
I made a frame out of Coconut White and Sky Blue Card using Sue's Ornate Pierced Rectangles. I added it to my woven background using 3D Foam and trimmed away the excess. I matted onto Coconut White and Sky Blue Card and added an 8mm White Pearl to each corner.
I cut the Justrite Happy Birthday Sentiment Die out of Sky Blue Card. I decided to add it directly to my background rather than mount it on another die cut so as not to hide my lovely background.
I cut Sue's Star Flower Cluster out of Lilac, Custard and Sky Blue Card and added a 3mm White Pearl to the centre of each flower.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Lovely card. Have my dies out to make my own version for a birthday card tonight.
ReplyDeleteLoved the shows. It was good to revisit the old techniques and remind myself of the methodology. Oh! Those polished silk glitters, so so moorish and exquisite to touch. Had to wait till this morning to catch the last half of the second show because my so called extra fast cable broadband went slower than a tortoise last night and the show wouldn't spool. Found this before with Hochanda shows. Weird!. Seems you are giving me no choice but to buy a satellite recording box so I can record and keep!

Hi Julia. Got home about an hour ago and thought I would do a bit of weaving. I suddenly remembered I hadn't looked at your blog and so have left off to take a look and how funny, you are showing a weaving card. Mine looked lovely in two colours until I saw yours. A multicoloured one may have to be my next weave now. SueL x
