Hi Bloggers.
I have another woven card for you today -
Ok, for the woven background, I cut Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die out of Aqua Card and then embossed it using the Couture Creations Nuevo Embossing Folder. I cut Sue's Striped Weaving Die out of Custard Card twice. I glued the 2 Striped die cuts together, offsetting them to fill in the gaps. I then did my weaving. I cut 2 strips of the Custard Striped die cut and wove them over and under through the Aqua Classic die cut. I then cut just 1 strip from the Custard Striped die cut and wove it under and over the Aqua Classic die cut. I continued in this way till the piece was complete.
I cut Sue's Birthday Shadow Box invluding the window dies out of Coconut White Card leaving a good sized border. I added it to my woven background using 3D Foam Tape.
I made a frame out of Aqua Card using dies #3 and #5 from Sue's Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B. I made another frame out of Custard Card using dies #4 and #5 and glued the 2 frame die cuts together. I added my frame to the backgrounds and trimmed away the excess using scissors.
I cut the Justrite Happy Birthday Sentiment Die out of Coconut White Card.
I cut some of the additional little dies in Sue's Birthday Shadow Box Die Set out of Coconut White Card and inked through the dies with CS Phill Martin Frosty Aqua Colour Cloud using a Smoothie.
I cut Sue's Star Flower Cluster out of Custard, Aqua and Coconut White Card and added 3mm White Pearls to the centres of the flowers.
I completed my card adding 5mm White Pearls to the corners of the frame and some card mats.
I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak peek from my Takeover Shows on Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Morning Julia, thank you so much for these weaving die cards they are so inspiring, I am sure there are loads of crafter's (like me) out there who are getting their creative juices working again after seeing your creations.

Morning Julia
ReplyDeleteUsing the weaving die for this background is very effective. It's a lovely mix of what is a gorgeous card

I love the weaving dies as you might have gathered from previous blog comments so, for me, it seems a shame to cover them up with the smaller dies rather than feature the weave in the boxes. I am sure everyone who follows will totally disagree. Lovely card though.
