Lemon Juice!

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I stamped the Justrite Journey Background onto Milk Card using Coffee Archival. Using Smoothies, I inked sections of the map with Pool, Mountain Rose, Terra Cotta, Clover and Pebble Adirondack Dye Inks. I swiped some Currant Adirondack Dye Ink onto my Craft Sheet and used a Water Brush to colour the banner. I tore around the edges of the map and inked around the edges with Pebble Ink.

I popped some Lemon Juice into a mister bottle and misted it into my hands and 'clapped' over the map. I dried the splats with my heat tool - they turn a burnt brown when dry.

I stamped the car image from the Justrite Explore Vintage Labels Four Stamp Set using Coffee Archival. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels Four Dies and inked through the die with Pebble Ink. I coloured the card with Currant Ink using my Water Brush.

I stamped the sentiment, also from the Explore Vintage Labels Four Stamp Set using Coffee Archival and cut it out using another die from the Vintage Labels Four Die Set, inking through the die with Pebble Ink.

I ran a piece of Milk Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Couture Creations Wire Barbs. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Pumice Ink.

I tied a knot in a piece of Tan/Ivory Striped Grosgrain.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 8mm Cream Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Thanks for stopping by.

  12. nice to see different style of card ,much as I love flowery cards it's good to see other styles and to remember to use the older stamps that are lurking on the shelf

  13. This card proves that stamps can sometimes offer far more than dies alone.. I like the stamp and the techniques used. Your use of lemon juice fascinated me when you showed it on the box last weekend. Can I assume, from the size of this stamp, it is an example where you took card to stamp rather than the normal other way round?

  19. Hi Julia, I adore this card, the Journey background stamp is fabulous and I love the colouring you have done on it, especially the splats of lemon juice (hope you didn't have any cuts in your hands when you did this lol). I especially love how you have used the grosgrain ribbon, I will be using mine like this in future.
I received my 'yesterday's Deal of the Day' from you just now, thank you for the speedy service, and I will look forward to playing with it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
