Birthday Wishes

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

This card is the result of a lady that came up to me last Saturday at the NEC and told me that she hadn't used the Classic/Striped Weaving Dies from Sue in the same way that I had. Really? says I? Well, I tried it and the result is here. Instead of laying the Striped die cut over the classic die cut so that the edges of the classic strips are covered with the thin striped strips, the classic die cut is offset so that the thin striped strips lay in the centre of the classic strips. I've then woven in the usual way.

I cut a frame out of Black and Coconut White Card using Sue's Ornate Pierced Rectangles Die Set.

I made a flower out of Black Card using Sue's Cornflower Die Set and added a Small Circle Dazzler.

I cut some leaves and flowers using Sue's Blossoming Branch Die Set and added some 3mm White Pearls.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Amazing Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using Sue's Pierced Flags Die Set and cut a larger mat out of Black Card using the same die set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Pearl Corners.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  3. Morning Julia and all crafters, beautiful card, not sure what you meant about doing the weaving differently, I will have to have a play to see if I understand it, but this is such a nice card, it could also be used as a male card as well without the flowers.

Have a great Friday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

    1. Mot my way really but the way as originally intended when Sue designed the dies. Have a look at the blush/white card in my next workshop in Yardley Gobion (Workshops in the menu above) or Sue's YouTube Channel - search for weaving dies.

Wow, what a stunning effect these dies made. I love how the weaving die has been used as well. I've bought the classic dies if these, but think I must get the pierced ones as well.
