Enjoy

Hi Bloggers.

Sue Wilson amd John Lockwood are continuing with their Pick of the Day Shows today on Ideal World and Create & Craft - please check the schedules for show times.

Here's today's card -

I finally managed to get hold of some Foundations Lilac Card - yay!

For the background, I did a fine weave using Lilac and Coconut White Card and Sue's Striped Weaving Die. Those of you who are booked onto my workshop in Milton Keynes on 16th May will learn how to do this. It is quite time consuming, but the finished result is well worth the effort.

I made a frame using Sue's Ornate Pierced Rectangles Die Set.

I cut Sue's Enjoy Expressions Die out of Lilac Card.

I cut the border from Sue's Greek Collection Corner, Border & Tag Die Set out of Coconut White Card, cut it in half and added it to the frame.

I made a flower using Sue's Cornflower Die Set using Lilac Card. I added a new Dazzler and some twirly bits cut using a couple of dies from Sue's Splendid Swirls Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White 8mm Pearls to the corners and piercing around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas

Hi Bloggers.

I've a few Christmas Cards to share - hope you don't mind!

Here's today's offering -

The background on this one features Alcohol Inks but this time I used them on Silver Mirri Card. I popped some Aqua, Cool Peri and Denim Alcohol Inks onto my applicator tool and inked all over the Mirri Card, replenishing the ink when necessary. Next, I popped some Snowcap Mixative onto my craft sheet and used it to stamp the 2 snowflakes from the Justrite Inner Thoughts Stamp Set (on order for my Amazon Shop).

I wrapped a piece of White Silky Crush Ribbon around the background. I tied a bow using 2 lengths of the Silky Crush Ribbon and added an Idea-ology Christmas Adornment adding a pearl in the centre.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Grand Christmas Sentiments (I have ordered some of these for my Amazon Shop) using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 20 and inked through the die with Broken China Distress Ink. I cut a Justrite Vintage Label Four Die out of Black card and at the emboss stage added the Spellbinders Holiday Magic M-Bossabilities Folder.

I cut a holly border out of Coconut White Card using Spellbinders Holly Accents and inked through the die with Broken China.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Silver Lustre around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Season's Greetings

Hi Bloggers.

So, not a particularly Christmassy card today but it does show off a rather lovely sentiment from the new Justrite Grand Sentiments Rubber Stamp Set. We all have to make lots of cards at Christmas and I thought this one could be made in lots of colours and would be suitable for batch making. Obviously, a non Christmas sentiment would make it suitable for any occasion.

The background is simply a piece of Coconut White Card run through the Grand Calibur with the Spellbinders Holiday Magic M-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment using Coffee Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 22 and inked through the die with Vintage Photo. I cut a mat out using Spellbinders Decorative Labels 22, again inking though the die with Vintage Photo.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Champagne Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Fancy Pearl Embellishment.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls in the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Life is Good at the Beach

Hi Bloggers.

This one of my favourite cards from the Pick of the Day - probably because it has a Lustre Embossing Powder on it!

I used Milk Card for this one - the embossing powder takes on a different shade when using Milk Card rather than White Card. I laid the Swirl Border Mask across the top of my card and inked around it using Cloudy Blue Adirondack Dye Ink with Cut n Dry Foam. Then I randomly stamped some shells from the Justrite At the Beach Oval Medallion Labels Stamp Set using Cloudy Blue. I also stamped the border from the same stamp set across the top and bottom of the card. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Peacock Pleasure Embossing Folder. I ran it though a second time to extend the design and then inked around the edges with Denim Adirondack Dye Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the main image from the stamp set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Oval Nested Medallions Labels and inked through the die with Cloudy Blue (it's very subtle).

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Arctic Lake Lustre. I cut it out using Spellbinders Ornate Squares and inked through the die with Cloudy Blue.

I stamped some shells, again from the same stamp set, using Perfect Medium and embossed with Arctic Lake Lustre. I cut them out using scissors and added them to the card as shown.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

I'm moving house the next week and I think I may frame this one and pop it in the bathroom. What do you think?

I'll be back tomorrow with a card from the tomorrow's shows.

Thanks for stopping by.

Life to the Fullest

Hi Bloggers.

Phew! Busy couple of days. Have to admit I'm feeling a bit jet-lagged today. I hope you enjoyed the shows and managed to get yourself some goodies to play with.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I laid the Delicate Border Mask across the top of my card and inked around it using Peach Bellini Adirondack Dye Ink. I moved the mask down the card and repeated the inking twice more. Then, with the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped the Justrite Floral Flourishes Background Stamp using Peach Bellini. There's a couple of lovely little scroll stamps in the Justrite Ornate Happiness Squares Clear Stamp Set. I used one of them and randomly stamped it using Denim Adirondack Dye Ink - I stamped it twice on to copy paper before stamping on my background each time to lighten the colour. I then scraped some Denim Ink around the edges using a piece of Cut n Dry Foam.

I popped the sentiment and the frame from the Justrite Live, Laugh, Love Vintage Labels Two Clear Stamp Set onto my acrylic block and stamped using Jet Black Archival. I embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. The 'LIVE' and 'LOVE' sentiments at the top and bottom of the frame are separate stamps - there are some others in the set too. As they're clear, it's easy to stamp them in afterwards.

I coloured the wooden effect section of the frame using Peach Bellini. The other bits are coloured with Matt Drawing Inks - Blue Cotton from the Soft Velvet Set and Marigold from the Autumn Shades Set. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels Two Dies.

I made a scrunched up flower using Justrite Vintage Labels Three and added a little Denim Ink to the tops of the petals. I cut a couple of leaves out of blue card using Spellbinders Foliage die set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Blue around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Oceanside

Hi Bloggers.

Hope you enjoyed the shows last night. 8 more scheduled for today.

There are some Nautical themed stamp sets on the shows and this is one of the samples I've made using them -

For the background, I stamped the crab stamp from the Justrite Oceanside Oval Medallion Labels Stamp Set using Pebble Adirondack Dye Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and then went around the edges with Raisin Adirondack Dye Ink using Cut n Dry Foam. I wrapped a piece of Burgundy/Ivory Striped Grosgrain around the centre.

I stamped the Lobster Label Stamp from the same stamp set using Raisin Adirondack and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Oval Medallion Labels and inked through the die with Pebble Adirondack. I coloured in the border around the stamp with Blue Cotton Matt Drawing Ink from the Soft Velvet Set.

I stamped the Map Label Stamp from the Justrite Anchors Away Clear Stamp Set using Raisin Adirondack and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using another Oval Medallion Label die and inked through the die with Pebble Adirondack. Again, I coloured the little border around the edge with Blue Cotton Adirondack.

I stamped the sentiment from the Oceanside Stamp Set using Raisin Adirondack and embossed with clear powder. I cut it out using a die from the Justrite Vintage Label & Banner Die Set and inked through the die with Pebble Adirondack.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Red Button in each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Hope you can tune into some of the shows today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You!

Hi Bloggers.

Tonight I launch the Justrite & Heartfelt Creations Pick of the Day. All the times and channels are in the left-hand side bar of this blog. Hope you can join me for some of the shows.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I simply ran a piece of Coconut White card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Extra Flint Embossing Folder. Unfortunately, that folder isn't on the shows - sorry! I edged the background with a little Denim Adirondack Dye Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

The two frames and the sentiment are from the Justrite For All You Do Vintage Labels Three Clear Stamp Set. I lined the sentiment up in my frame on my acrylic block, stamped using Perfect Medium and added Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre Embossing Powder.  I stamped the larger frame from the same stamp set in the same way. I cut them both out using Justrite Vintage Labels Three Dies.

I cut the largest of the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Butterfly Corner dies out of Pastel Blue Card. I stamped the smallest 3 flowers from the Heartfelt Tattered Blossoms Pre using Perfect Medium and embossed with Arctic Lake Lustre. I did this twice so I had 2 sets. I cut them out using the Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms Die Set with a template I had already made (instructions on die set packaging and I'll try to explain how when I demo). I shaped the petals with my fingers and glued them on top of each other as shown. I added an 8mm White Pearl to the centre of each one.

I assembled the card as shown adding some more pearls in the top left hand corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Summer Blue around the edges.

The launch is at 9pm tonight on Ideal World with Shaun. I'll hopefully see you later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.
