You Mean the World to Me

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Black Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Ooh La La Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design.

I stamped the bee from the Botanical Spray Set twice using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut them out using Spellbinders Classic Squares Large. I cut 2 Spellbinders Captivating Squares out of Black Card.

I stamped the ladybug that comes in the Ivy Corner Set twice, again using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut them out using Spellbinders Captivating Squares. I cut 2 Spellbinders Fleur de Lys Squares out of Black Card.

I cut a Spellbinders Grand Decorative Labels One and at the emboss stage added the Decorative Mask.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Classic Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut it out using Sue's Seville Die Set from the Spanish Collection.

I tied a bow using Black/Ivory Striped Grosgrain. I added a little water to some Cosmic Shimmer Vanilla PVA on my craft sheet and brushed it onto a Fancy Pearl Embellishment.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Cream 8mm Pearl to each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.

If any of you live in the Bristol area, then you may like to come to a demo day that I'm doing for Out of the Blue in Chipping Sodbury on June 7th. Here are the contact details -

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  7. Morning Julia, A beautiful monochrome card today, I love the bees and ladybugs, and I especially love how you have cut out the respective squares, genius and so beautiful.
I was trying the pva glue dots again for the second time yesterday, Julia, and I was worse than the first time haha ,I think it must be that I've had my glue too long, so I'll use it as 'scribble glue' (Sue's phrase) and I will get some new when I can afford it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  12. Hi Julia
Love this card and the stamps used. I have the dies but not the stamps. I do have small stamps that I could use. This is so different from your usual style. But still stunning. Not to sure how Chipping Sodbury. Just might be closer than Bristol Mrs B. I think you are close to me Mrs B. I think I heard your email read out once on Sue's Demo and it said Mrs B from Southmoor. Unless there are two of them and your not the one near Witney Oxon.

  27. Shame - your demonstrations are too far away, but I am on the look-out for something closer. I love these nature/insect stamps good for a boy, though I would leave the bow off for a male card.
