Mulled Wine

Thanks for all your comments and emails yesterday. I already have the stamps and misters on order for my Amazon Store and hopefully they'll be here by the end of the week.

I thought I'd share a simple card today using the new Cosmic Shimmer Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes.

 I started my 'inking' up the Herbal Collage with Cosmic Shimmer Flake & Glitter Glue. I stamped it onto some Black Card and put it aside for the glue to go clear while I cleaned the glue off my stamp with a Grime Boss. I added Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes to the image, removing the excess with a scrubby pad.

The black background has been embossed with one of Sue Wilson's new A4 Embossing Folders called Art Deco Fanfare (coming soon).

I stamped the sentiment which comes with the Earthenware Vase from last Friday's shows, using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels 4 and inked through the die with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Champagne Silky Crush Ribbon. I mixed a little Vanilla Cosmic Shimmer Pastel PVA with a little water and brushed it over a Fancy Pearl Embellishment to change the colour slightly. Once dry I added it to my bow.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Olympic Gold Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA around the edges.

    Thank you very much for your brilliant shows yesterday, Iwas really fed up the washing machine conked out , then you came on with Martyn and was so funny, the card is lovely, I thought those flakes would take off with Dawn. Thank you repair man comming today take care Kitty.

    Good morning Julia this card is beautiful. I like using gilding flakes which must be much easier at home than in a studio. I enjoyed your shows yesterday I even managed to email in. I have found that I can watch C &C with an app on my Kindle after it finishes on Freebies- just brilliant. Have a great day you deserve a rest. Love Jackie

    Morning Julia, Fabulous shows, Fabulous samples, Fabulous demo's, I'm just watching you at present as I had to record both shows. I am always amazed with the shaving foam technique, the results are always stunning. I first saw this technique on one of Dawn's DVD's years ago, and I am still amazed when watching the 'magic' happen.
    This card today is stunning, I love those gilding flakes, they are sumptuous, and the embossing folder is gorgeous, looking forward to those.

    Hi Julia. I love todays card. You can't beat gilding on black, it is always stunning. The embossing folder is already on my wish list! Had to play catch up with your shows, both were great. Shaving foam technique will always be my favourite I think, it always makes me feel like a magician when I use my ruler to wipe away the foam : ) Take care.

    Enjoyed both shows Tried the inking & gilding flakes technique & as I removed stamp from card it pulled off some of the card as well leaving it patchy Help please! I'm hoping you're all going to tell me the quality of the card I used was to blame

      You didn't put enough glue on the stamp or you weren't quick enough stamping it - the card tears if the glue is dry. It needs to be blue to stamp and clear to gild. Julia

    Hi Julia. Great show yesterday morning. Wouldn´t it be great if they let you do it on your own without a presenter rabbiting on all the time.
    I agree with Nancyd I prefer the stamp better with the gilding flakes.

    A simply stunning card today. Just love the stamp and the gilding flakes. The new mulled wine is gorgeous. I like this one better than all the others. Couldn't really see the embossing folder, but can't wait to see Sue's new ones as I loved her other ones.

    Hi Julia. I love the look these gilding flakes give the colours are do very pretty. I had the unfortunate accident of sneezing in ma box mid way of applying them to the card! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry with the flakes fluttering everywhere. I'm just glad I only decanted a little into the box an not the whole tub! Lol
