Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I simply ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Great Almanzo Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.
I stamped the Zentangled Heart using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Mica Spray Set - Summer Shades. I love Mica Spray Sets - there's just so much you can do with them. You can dust them, paint with them, mix them with embossing powders, mist them, use them with masks, all sorts! I cut the heart out using scissors and went around the edge with a black promarker to hide any white bits. I cut the largest of the Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags & Accents and inked through the die with Victorian Velvet. I threaded some Blue White American Seam Binding through the holes in the die cut and secured at the back of the background. I tied 2 bows using 3 lengths of American Seam Binding and added a Pink Dazzler to each.
I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Zentangled Heart using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using the same Mica Powders as before and cut out using Spellbinders Fancy Postage Edge. I inked through the die with Victorian Velvet.
I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges and some White Pearls in the corners.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Julia.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card - I love the look of the 2 bows.
I don't really do hearts on my cards but I imagine this would be great fun and very relaxing to colour it in.

ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, Saw you demo this card and was fascinated, I really love the zentangled heart stamp and also the postage stamp die, it gives a beautiful edge. I am definitely putting the new embossing powders on my 'wish list', it was fascinating to see the difference between being on white and black card.
