I have a mixed media canvas for you today.
I've used a 20cm square treated canvas - this means that you do not need to apply gesso before adding anything to the canvas.
I started by popping some CS Muti-Tex Powder onto my Craft Sheet. I added some water and a little CS Dries Clear Glue and gave it a good mix. I then spread it through the Dutch Doobadoo Wavy Stripes Mask along the left hand side of my canvas. I dried it using a Heat Tool.
I cut the Spellbinders Cascading Circles Die out of some scrap card and added it as shown using CS Glue.
I added some Crochet Ribbon and some Ric Rac Ribbon - I secured this using Ranger Distress Collage Medium. At this point I put it aside to dry.
I gathered together various embellishments - Buttons, Dazzler and Dazzler Setting, Paper Flowers, Paper Clay Embellishments that I had made ahead of time using Paper Clay and Silicone Moulds, Metal Leaves and a die cut from the Spellbinders Venetian Accents Die Set.
Once my ribbon was securely adhered, I added my embellishments. I also added some more Multi-Tex through the Vintage Diamond Mini Stencil, Splattered Mini Stencil and the Heart Cluster Mini Stencil (see if you can spot where I used those!). I also added a little more Ric Rac Ribbon. I put it aside to dry again.
Once all embellishments were secure, I painted the whole lot with CS White Gesso. I used one of the new Craft Consortium Brushes - I highly recommend those, really lovely to use. I gave some areas a second coat where necessary.
Once everything was sufficiently white and dry, I spritzed with Phill Martin CS Titanium Mister and with CS Mallow Blush Mister. Once dry, I added Phill Martin CS Copper Gilding Wax.
I finished by stamping the sentiment from John Lockwood's Pierced Tag Sentiments Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. I trimmed down, split it int sections and edged with the Jet Black Archival Ink. I added it to my canvas using 3D Foam and a little CS Glue.
Mixed Media is alot of fun, very realxing and can be quite pretty rather than grungy.
John Lockwood is continuing with his One Day Special on Hochanda today with shows at 9am, 12noon, 4pm and 7pm. I don't have many of the items on the show in stock but I'm offering 10% discount on products I do have - you can find them here. Offer is valid till midnight tonight or while stocks last. Discount will be applied at checkout.
Thanks for stopping by.

Morning Julia, Wowwwww !!! I'm loving this mixed media canvas, the beautiful pastel colourway is so delicate, I absolutely love it. When I first clicked onto your Blog post my eyes immediately fell upon your picture, and I went "Wowwwwwww mixed media", I love it Julia, it is gorgeous. I want to try mixed media myself and I am keeping hold of lots of broken jewellery items that I can use. You have 'made my day' with this beautiful canvas.

Stunning piece of mixed media Julia. Particularly love your chosen colours especially the Mallow Blush. Mixed media projects are often masculine looking - nothing wrong with that per se. Though it's refreshing to see something different. Thanks.
