Wonderful Mum

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I used Sue's Fire & Ice technique on this one. The Spellbinders Wonderful Mum die set is 2 dies - the detail die and an outer cutting edge die so you can either cut the words as an insert or cut out as a complete piece.

I cut the inner die out of Coconut White Card leaving a good sized border around it. I added a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet over the front of the die cut piece. On the back, I added some Cosmic Shimmer Gemstones Gilding Flakes rubbing them into the die cut words and removing the excess with a piece of Rubit Scrubit.

I turned over, removed the other piece of backing sheets and rubbed Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow all over the surface.

I cut a frame out of Coconut White using a couple of dies from the Spellbinders Grand Rectangles Die Set.

I made a flower using Spellbinders Flower Play Die Set, inking around the edges of the die cuts with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and adding a 5mm White Pearl to the centre. I tied a knot in a piece of White Tulle, trimmed it and added a couple ot Pearl Sprays.

I assembled the card as shown adding some more White Pearls and piercing around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

    1. The Spellbinders I'm using are from the January release. The Wonderful Mum Die Set and the Flower Play Die Set are UK retailer exclusives so you need to ask your local shop to stock them.

Brilliant, I knew you'd do things with these Spellbinders that was a lot more than pieces of multicoloured card! Sue's fire and ice technique is perfect for these word dies, the tulle and pearl sprays make it extra special too :-) a card any mum would love to recieve!

  19. Fire and Ice is the next theme for my craft club, so this card is very fortuitous. I have not seen this die before - I thought it was a stamp before I read your how-I-did-this instructions.
