Peace

Hi Bloggers.

I spent most of yesterday trying to tidy my Craft Room. I am not the tidiest of people but it was getting ridiculous - it was taking me ages to find anything! I still haven't finished but I should be able to knock it on the head today so that I can get back to being creative. I really want to use up some of my demo bits from last weekend.

So, Christmas again, I'm afraid -

I started by running a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Creative Expressions Swirling Holly Embossing Folder. I spread some Cosmic Shimmer Polar White Texture Paste over the deboss side and put aside to dry (about 20 minutes). Once dry, I trimmed it and matted it onto a slightly larger piece of Coconut White Card.

I cut the tree, topper and trunk out of Coconut White Card using Spellbinders Stylized Tress Die Set.

I embossed another piece of card using the Swirling Holly Embossing Folder - this time I used the embossed side as it comes.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Peace Joy Love Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using a little die from the Spellbinders Holly Tags Die Set. I cut the corresponding decorative die from the same die set out of Coconut White Card. I threaded some Off White Satin Ribbon through the holes either side and secured at the back of my background.

I assembled the card as shown adding a couple of White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

I'm planning a second post today with a giveaway so pop back later, around 12noon.

I'm taking my little car in for its service and MOT this morning. With all the miles I've done this year, I'm expecting it to be pricey! Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  2. Morning Julia, gorgeous card today, very different but I really like it. You are a true crafter if you can't find anything, well that is what I tell myself haha.

Good luck with the car, it does do a lot of miles for you.

Enjoy Wednesday whatever you are doing, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  3. Hello Julia

I love this card for its clear clean lines. I know what you mean about your craft room it can get to a state where it takes twice as long to get things done. I do try to clear down after each project but sometimes orders and time are against me! Sigh! Good luck with your day

    The Half Day Diet Review

Expected job growth for medical assistants is much greater than any other career these next ten years and it's not hard to understand why! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, many careers were expected to grow between five to ten percent in demand. These careers included teachers, biologists, retail, entrepreneurship and many others due to a rapidly increasing and stabilizing economy.

I Can Understand Why You Need To Tidy Your Craft Room As I Only Make A Small Number Of Cards Compared To Yourself I Make Birthday Christmas Cards And Some For Charity And My Craft Room Gets Very Messy!!!!

  15. Hi Julia,
A really contemporary look with this Christmas tree and the white on white is beautiful. I really like the font for the sentiment and the way you have thread the ribbon through the tag.
    Thanks for all the inspiration,

  16. Hi Julia. What a pretty card. I do like white on white. I can't stand working in a mess and probably spend more time tidying than crafting but since the weekend I have everything on the floor so nowhere to walk. Sympathies re car. Mine going in Monday for exactly the same and I know it will not pass mot without having brakes done. Good luck with yours. SueL x

  18. Morning Julia, My heart goes out to you, trying to organise into some form of 'tidiness' all your craft stuff must be really hard, I have a problem with my stuff and trying to keep it tidy, but your problem must be a lot harder. My problem seems to be using up the 'bits', I have more 'bit boxes' than anything else haha.
I'm thinking of you, also for your little car, it will re-charge it's batteries (so to speak haha) and will thank you for it.
A lovely card, white on white with that touch of black on the sentiment, lovely.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  28. Hi Julia, I love this card. It's got a crisp look and feel to it x The embossing makes it pop x I love it when a bit of shiny is added onto cards. I'm always mesmerised by it hence my blog name...lol! x Ooooo and about messy crafting, guilty as charged! It took me three days and nights to put everything in order! My husband is so chuffed because now he can stretch his legs out under the table....lol! Now I've just spent another 3 days putting Christmas stamps etc together up one end of the room and everyday stuff up the other end. I've got stack of draws where one draw has cream/white bits, another mirror board......I know they say always save your bits of cards but there is a limit.....??? I've no doubt there's quite a number of us who have got an obsession! lol! Phew! Glad it's done though xx I don't how you and all the team go on with everything you have and you've got to have ideas too......I'm surprised none of you sleep walk! Anyway, essay over! "Thank you Julia" xx Love Karen xx
