Hi Bloggers.
Another card today made with the Wee Hopeful Cardmaking Kit from the Hobby House. I've gone off piste a bit and made an 8 x 8 card and added a few extra bits. There's loads in the kit so you don't really need to add anything extra, I just wanted to see how it would work with other stuff that I have.
All the papers, the die cut image, die cut mat, pearls and sentiment are from the kit. I've edged the sentiment and the image panel with Phill Martin Decadent Denim Colour Cloud Blending Ink using a Smoothie.
I've wrapped a little Lilac/Blue Sheer Iridescent Ribbon around the strip of patterned paper.
The flowers are Paper Flowers from Woodware, They're white and take ink really well - I used the Decadent Denim Colour Cloud. I added a Brad from the Vintage Mix.
I managed to cut a couple of Sue Wilson's Maidenhair Fern out of the waste from the die cut mat and I gutted the mat for another couple of leaves.
I assembled the card as shown, matting onto Coconut White Card and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.
Hope you're enjoying Sue's latest Die Launch - there are some lovely new designs in there. I love John's new stamps to die for too. All available on my website now!
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Morning Julia.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card , so pretty, Thank you. Take care Kitty.
Good Morning Julia
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty card really girlie even though you have used the blue. I don't use kits myself I always felt they never totally delivered but actually maybe it's because the finishing touches as you have added are what is needed.
It isn't the quality of the kits as a lot are excellent these days Hobby House in particular however I feel that they still need that little something to make them truly classy and not look like a kit and your additions have done just that.
Have a good day Julia; goodies came yesterday thanks. have to do some serious housework but then I will be playing with the new things!

Hi Julia, beautiful card. Gorgeously girly. Love that the added flowers, fern, brad, ribbon and pearls have just made it that bit more feminine. I do love the Decadent Denim too as it has really made the flowers stand out along with the die cut mat. Love the spotted and flowered papers together too. I recently did a pop up box and used a light teal spotted paper with a pastel tartan paper and it looked lovely together. It's trial and error practice eh? Lol! "Thank you Julia" xx Love Karen xx
