Hi Bloggers.
Hope you tuned into Nikki's shows yesterday. Her samples were stunning. Stamps arriving in my Amazon Store soon.
Just before I share today's card, I'd just like to say that here on my blog I try to share as many cards as I can from my shows to give as many ideas as possible to those of you who have purchased items from the show. So, if you find that you are fed up of seeing cards from a certain set of shows, I am sorry but you know my reason for sharing them all.
Here's today's card -
The background is in 2 pieces. I used Milk Card. The top section is the new Creative Expressions Leafy Background (on order for my store), stamped twice using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. The join is just off centre hidden by the die cut and the flower. The bottom section is from the Couture Creations Persuasion Blooms Embossing Folder. I had to run it through a second time to extend the design. I glued both sections to a piece of Rich Red Card and wrapped a piece of Cream Guipure Duchess Lace (coming soon) around the join, securing with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
I cut a Spellbinders Splendid Circle Die and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany. I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Blooming Dahlia using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using scissors and then coloured in using Cosmic Shimmer Scarlet Flame Matt Drawing Ink from the Autumn Shades Set (more stock due soon).
I stamped the key image from the Heartfelt Creations Floral Keys & Lockets Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. It's from the set below and is surrounded by flowers
I cut and embossed the Heartfelt Creations Burnished Key Die to create a template. I placed the relevant key shape over the image and secured with removable tape, slotted the die into place and secured that with tape too and ran it through the Grand Calibur. I inked around the edges of the key with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
I assembled the card as shown adding some 8mm Cream Pearls to the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Pearl PVA in Crystal around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.

ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, How is it that people are 'complaining' about what YOU put on YOUR Blog !! I, for one, am inspired by the many cards that any one stamp set can produce, let's face it we want to get the most out of what we buy.
ReplyDeleteYour card today is gorgeous, I have never used the aged mahogany in this way before, but it is sooooo beautiful, and the dahlia stamp is so versatile, can be flat or be decoupaged up, it's gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I would like to say that I love seeig as many different possibilities with one stamp as I can. The more possibilities a stamp or die has the better value it is, and I for one always appreciate being shown different ways of using them. Today's card is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove Rosemarie x

ReplyDeleteI fully agree that stamps should be shown off to their fullest potential, however there are horses for courses.
Please accept my apology

Hi Julia
ReplyDeleteLove today's card these stamps are gorgeous. How on earth can people complain about the gorgeous cards that you show on your blog. it's your blog (which doesn't cost us anything to see) but costs you a lot of your time and effort. Some cards might not be quite to everybody's style. However, we should all tolerate everyone else's style of cards.
Hi Julia, love todays card. I saw you demo this and I could never get fed up with any of your cards.
ReplyDeleteJust love this card. The background stamp, dahlia stamp and the embossing folder are a must have. Helen VofG
