Hi Bloggers.
A bit of a 2-fer today. Same card but different backgrounds. I made the second one first but decided I'd probably get some 'too dark' comments so I made the first one to demo.
For the background, I used the Rose Corner Stamp in my hand and stamped 3 times across the card and 3 times down the card using Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I filled in some of the gaps by using the Postcards A6 Stamp (again in my hand using Spun Sugar). I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Passion Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Spun Sugar using Cut n Dry Foam.
I stamped the Daisy Swirl using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Ruby Lapis Lustre Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 29 and inked through the die with Spun Sugar.
I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Treasured Memories Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Ruby Lapis Lustre. I cut it out using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and inked through the die with Spun Sugar.
I stamped the Daisy Swirl twice more and cut the flower heads out using scissors. Using the embossed line as a guide, I cut down to the centre in several places and then shaped using a paper shaping tool.
I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Pink around the edges.
This is the first card I made -
The stamping was done in Black Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Black Aurora. The Daisy Swirl was cut out using Spellbinders Labels 8. I inked through the dies with Forest Moss Distress Ink. The background is the Couture Creations Ooh La La Embossing Folders and Black Card, then rubbed all over with Vintage Golden Green Gilding Wax. I used Vintage Golden Green Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Morning Julia,
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are equally good, one for the ladies and one for the Men. After all there is nothing to say you cannot give a card to a man with flowers on it!

ReplyDeleteHi Julia I have to admit that I like both of these cards and the second one isn't too dark at all,I'm definitely going to have to get the daisy swirl stamp as you have shown how versatile it can be. Got to try using more coloured embossing powders too as I still tend to use clear, white or black! Love Lesley x

Love your card design Julia, but I think I'd use my Delicate Asters dies instead.
ReplyDeleteBut that would not show the versatility of the Daisy Swirl Stamp!
