Hi Bloggers.
Hope you're enjoying the Pick of the Day. 9 shows scheduled today (please see yesterday's post for times and channels). I'm not sure if the 9am is going ahead as it's not on the schedule as I write this.
Here's today's card -
For the background, I used Milk Card. With the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped the Newsprint Holly A6 Stamp using Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I then stamped a few berries from the Justrite Festive Poinsettia Clear Stamp using Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Peacock Feathers Mask to add a bit of texture.I inked around the edges with Seedless Preserves using Cut n Dry Foam.
I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Inner Thoughts Rubber Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and added Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I did not heat set just yet. I stamped the large bauble stamp which is from the Justrite Heritage Christmas Ornaments Clear Stamp Set around the sentiment, again using Jet Black Archival, added Clear Powder and heat set the lot. I cut it out using the largest of the Spellbinders 2013 Heirloom Ornament Dies and inked through the die with Seedless Preserves. I threaded some Purple/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon through the loop at the top of the bauble and secured it at the back of the background piece. I tied another piece of ribbon into a knot and added it to the top of the bauble as shown.
I glued an Art Deco Corner in each corner using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
I finished the card off with some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Plum around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

ReplyDeleteHello Mrs Duck please can you give the web address for where you get your things from cheaper? I tried getting them from America and got charged a lot of money through customs charges!

Hi Julia loved this card when I seen it as a sample last night, loved the shows too!! I was a bit gutted as there was only 2 potd that I could get as I had the dies from last year!! But what really annoyed me was I tried to order the grand sentiments online and from 10 past 9 it was saying they were out of stock but they were still giving you details and saying to order quick,it was 20 mins before they said it was sold out I was not happy!!! Ok rant over lol love Lesley x
ReplyDeleteHello Julia, A striking card, love the colours, got the dies and stamps for this, can't wait for them to arrive. Saw half of the 9pm show, had visitors, the samples were fabulous. Will be watching the rest of todays shows,
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Hugs June xxx
hi Julia, an interesting card with all the detail but not really to my taste, I hope you are pacing yourself with the schedule of shows you have - though you might sell out and go home earlier than expected. Best wishes Jackie

ReplyDeleteA lovely card Julia, enjoyed the shows.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed your pick of the day shows and have been following you on ideal world and create and craft also. Missed your last chance show as I couldn't find it on either channel for some reason. Hope you are ok after your marathon on TV.
This card is gorgeous! I love the purples you have used and the bauble die and stamp with the sentiment is beautiful together. I wasn't quick enough to get the poinsettia stamp set so I'm hoping it will be brought back at sometime soon ( hint!) the background is amazing I really will start to try and make my own backgrounds for my Christmas stamps ive bought the snowflake mask and angels/trees mask so I can start I also have bought some bauble stamps so I've no excuse not to now I just have to be patient as it said I may have to wait two weeks to get them! I'm a very impatient person when waiting for things to come by post !
I love the way you have put this card together and you have such a great style to all your cards I have really enjoyed seeing you on TV and getting hints and tips.
Thank you for all the inspiration you bring
Best wishes from Katie-Louise
Hi, Julia,
ReplyDeleteI watched the Pick of The Day at 9pm last night and ordered all 7 of the Stamp and Die sets.
Some of the stamp sets look like being interchangeable with the different die sets and I liked
something in each set, so had to have them all !!
I enjoy watching you on Create and Craft and now follow your Blog daily, after finally
managing to catch your Blog address a few weeks ago.
I'm relatively new to card making, at present just making the odd card for relatives but thanks
to you and Sue have built up quite a collection of Spellbinders Dies and Just Rite Stamps as
you both do some fabulous demonstrations with them.
I just need to spend more time playing around with them and hopefully I'll eventually be
able to produce something half as good as yours!
I'm looking forward to receiving my latest acquisitions, which hopefully will arrive by the end
of next week.
In the meantime I'll enjoy your truly inspirational cards.
Many thanks and Best Wishes,
Angela in Swansea
