Hi Bloggers.
To even things out, today I have a scrapbook page featuring my daughter. This time, however, it's an 8" x 8" page. You could easily swap the picture of Kathryn for an image and change the text to anything you like.
I started with an 8 x 8 piece of purple card (it's actually colorcore but I haven't used it for the core). I cut a slightly smaller piece of white card and cut an edge using the Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgeabilities and an insert from the Classic Bracket Edgeabilities. I didn't notice until it was all stuck together that the hearts are upside down! However, it doesn't really matter as some of the hearts on the Heart Square are facing that way too. I cut a piece of decorative paper (Polka Doodles) slightly smaller than the white card and cut the edge using the Classic Bracket and an insert using the Classic Scallop. I inked around the edges with Milled Lavender Distress Ink using Cut & Dry Foam. I would have preferred to use Dusty Concord but that's not in the show. I also inked through the Small Polka Dots Mask with Plum Archival. This does stain the mask but it comes off easily with Blending Solution.
I cut a large Heart Square out of purple card. I popped a Lacey Circle over the area of the photograph I wanted and cut it out - I did not emboss it.
I stained some American Seam Binding with the Milled Lavender Distress Ink (Dusty Concord would have been better) and tied a bow with 2 lengths of it. On top I popped a Persian Motif cut from the purple card, a Ribbon Buckle cut from white card and inked though the die with Milled Lavender and another Ribbon Buckle cut from lavender card.
I stamped 'NEW HAT' using Plum Archival and cut each letter out using Banner Basics Three. I inked through the die again with the Milled Lavender. I glued the title to some Baker's Twine from the Vintage Set. I added a couple of knots to the twine and set it in place on my page with some 3d foam pads.
Hope you like the layout.
Thanks for stopping by.

WOW!! Love the way you laid out the page, sophisticated in it's simplicity.
ReplyDeleteMakes me feel guilty that I've not done any scrapbooking in a while and I must get back to it.
Not today though because my 5yr old is wrecking my head as she has so much energy and nothing to do with it because the weather is so wet here in waterford.
Hope you are having a better day.
