Hi Bloggers.
One Day Special Shows continue on Hochanda today at 7am (Netherlands), 9am, 1pm and 5pm. I hope you can join me.
I have a different colourway for you today - obviously change the colours if you're not confortable with pink for Christmas. Personally, I find it quite a relaxing change 😊
For the background, I embossed a piece of Milk Card with the Creative Expressions Shimmering Stars Embossing Folder. I matted onto Baby Pink Card and another piece of Milk Card.
I stamped the motif from the Creative Expressions Christmas Motifs Stamp Set onto Milk Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Silver Shine Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using die #4 from Sue Wilson's Looped Snowflake Frame Die Set. I placed die #3 over the top of it and drew around the outside edge of the die using a Clear Perfect Medium Pen. I added CS Silver Light Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.
I cut dies #5 and #6 together from Sue's Scalloped Snowflake Frame out of Milk Card. I cut die #6 out of Baby Pink Card and glued the 2 die cuts together.
I cut die #5 from Sue's Looped Snowflake Frame out of Milk Card. I added Clear Perfect Medium, then Silver Light Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set.
I cut Sue's Checkerboard Poinsettia Border out of Milk Card. I matted it onto a piece of Baby Pink Card. I added it to the bottom section of my card. I cut the snowflake from Sue's Looped Snowflake Frame out of Milk Card 5 times. I pressed 3 of them into Clear Perfect Medium, added Silverlight Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set. I added all 5 snowflakes to the Checkerboard Poinsettia Border covering the flowers in the border as shown. I added a 5mm Cream Pearl to the centre of each snowflake.
I added CS Glue around all the edged of my embossed background and then sprinkled CS Crystal Stars over. I completed my card by adding an 8mm Cream Pearl to the top corners.

Beautiful card Julia. Didn't have much luck watching your shows last night - the weather interfering with the signal being picked up from my Freesat satellite dish. I am currently watching (and recording) a repeat of your 8pm show from last night. Will have to catch up with the earlier show on the Hochanda website. Looking forward to today's shows

Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, and I agree that it's a nice change. This would also make a lovely birthday card for someone who has a Christmas birthday.
All the best for your shows and thanks for sharing,
Heather
I, too, like this pink and silver colour combination on this lovely card. Who in the card making dictatorship can determine which colours are appropriate or not, it is the thought and sentiment that counts.
ReplyDeleteLike Marion above, I had problems with watching your first show last night because of poor FreeSat reception. Reception was equally bad across all my Cable tv channels at the same time. Oddly a reboot of the latter solved reception problems of the former as well so the second show was watched in all its glory.

PS Will you EVER forgive and forget the incident with the Diamond Frost?

Beautiful card and I like the soft pink colour
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I really like the pink and silver you have used on the card, it's so different but go well together.Love how you worked the Checkerboard Poinsettia Border covering the flowers in the border and added Pearls to the centre of each snowflake, so elegant.
Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.

I love the idea of using different colours for Christmas and this pink is great. Thank you Julia.
ReplyDeletePink and white is good. I enjoy having live potted pink poinsettias in my home during Christmas. I started this tradition when my boys left home and I set up a Victorian look for Christmas. I had shared with them all the tree ornaments the boys grew up with and needed to start over.
ReplyDeleteHello Julia.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Card. I think this is so pretty, love the dies and the colour combination. I have just watched you make it. Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes
