Hi Bloggers.
I thought I would spend today's post telling you a little more about the new Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Cloud Inks.
Chalk Clouds are a new Pigment based blending ink. They come in the same tub as the popular Colour Cloud Blending Inks. As the name suggests, they are a chalk ink so can be seen on Black Card creating a fabulous chalk board effect - ideal to use with Phill Martin's Chalkboard Essentials Collection. You can stamp with them, ink through your dies with them, paint with them and create fabulous backgrounds with them.
The background on yesterday's card was stamped using Chalk Clouds. In this post, I'll show you a couple more samples I've made using them.
I stamped the Woodware Cosmos Flowers and sentiment onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. Using a Smoothie, I popped some Blue Lagoon Chalk Cloud onto my Craft Sheet. I used a Water Brush to pick up the ink and colour in the flowers. I popped some Terracotta Chalk Cloud onto my Craft Sheet and used this to colour the centre of the flowers. I used Sweet Apple Chalk Cloud to colour the leaves. I edged the piece with Blue Lagoon using a Smoothie and matted onto Black Card.
I matted a piece of patterned paper from Sue Wilson's Elegance 8 x 8 Paper Pad onto Black Card. I wrapped some Black Satin Ribbon and Guipure Lace around it and then popped onto a Coconut White Card Blank.
I completed my card by adding a 5mm Black Pearl to each corner.
Here's a background with the inks -
I've stamped the Woodware Long Tall Flowers Stamp and the sentiment onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS True White Detail Embossing Powder. I added 3 colours of Chalk Cloud using Smoothies - I used Blue Lagoon, Misty Grey and Sweet Violet. I used a piece of Kitchen Roll to rub the excess ink off the embossed lines. I then misted some water into my hands and clapped over my piece to create water splats. I poppped a new piece of Kitchen Roll over to stop the water moving further.
I bleached out some of the colour from the flowers using watered-down bleach in a Water Brush.
I cut out using Sue's Double Pierced Background Rectangles and cut a mat out of Coconut White Card using the next sized die in the set. I popped onto a Coconut White Card blank and added some 5mm White Pearls.
I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse of what you can do with the Chalk Clouds.
