Keep a shell in your pocket

Hi Bloggers.

Hope you enjoyed the Weekend Wow shows. Here's today's card -

For the background, I started by spritzing through the All Stirred Up Mask with CS Aqua Breeze Ink Spray Mist onto Coconut White Card. Once dry, I over stamped with the Justrite Text Background using CS Turquoise Pool Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. Then in the column gaps in the background, I stamped the sea weed stamp from the Justrite At The Beach Stamp Set using Basil Leaf CS Colour Cloud, again applying the ink to the stamp using a Smoothie.

I then experimented doing a little Frantage styled texture onto my background. In the bottom left hand corner, I added a little Clear Perfect Medium and then added some of Phill Martin's Old Gold Embossing Powder and tapped off the excess. I then sprinkled over a little CS Black Mirage Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder, a little CS Luna Silver Mica Flakes and a little CS Antique Gold Mica Flakes. I heated from below and as the embossing powders set, the mica flakes were encased adding texture. While still molten, I added more embossing powder and more flakes until I was happy with the result.

I tried this a slightly different way on the top right corner. I did not add any Perfect Medium. I just sprinkled some of the same 2 Embossing Powders and some of the same Mica Flakes over the area and then heated them from below. I added more powder and flakes till I was happy with it.

I made my usual frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Squares and Double Pierced Squares Set B. I added it to my background.

I stamped the shells, sea horse and star fish from the same stame stamp set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Detail Embossing Powder. I cut them out using the Justrite At the Beach Dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set, again using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with Black Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Eleven Dies and inked through the die with Turquoise Pool Colour Cloud using a Smoothie. I cut the next sized die out of Black Card as a mat.

I assembled the card as shown adding some little Aqua Dazzlers to the corners of my frame.

  9. What a great card, Julia. I had a play with my Pixie powders yesterday - managed to get a better spray of water! My perfect medium pad has started deteriorating so need to get a new one.
