Friends

Hi Bloggers.

Hope you enjoyed the One Day Special shows.

I'm off to meet my parents for lunch today (if I can get out of bed!). With my Mom recovering from her Stroke, I didn't want her to do Christmas at her house and I didn't want them to come to me as my stairs are tricky, Kathryn is away with her boyfriend and his family for Christmas and Nathan probably won't surface until tea time, we're not doing Christmas this year. I'm just meeting Mom and Dad for a lovely Christmas Meal at a lovely Pub today instead (same food, alot cheaper!). Tomorrow, I will be starting a major clear up of my Craft Room. It's beyond silly now - I can't find anything and the cats can't get on the bed anywhere for a snooze!

Here's today's card -

For the background,I stamped the Justrite Winter Wonder Stamp onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Black Mirage Embossing Powder. I ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die. I also cut the die from a piece of Coconut White Card. I cut the white die cut into strips and wove my background.

I made a frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Rectangles and Double Pierced Rectangles Set B. I added it to my background using 3D Foam Tape.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Special Gifts Labels Twenty-Nine Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using die #2 from Sue's Dainty Rectanglular Frame Die Set. I cut the largest die in the set out of Black Card.

I cut the largest 2 dies in both the complete and the overlay styles in Sue's Striped Nasturtium Die Set out of Coconut White Card twice. I pressed the overlay die cuts into Clear Perfect Medium and embossed them with CS Black Mirage Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I added a Small Black Circle Dazzler to the centre of the flowers. I cut some leaves out of Black Card using Sue's Swirly Leaf Trio Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding Black and Coconut White Card mats and Small Black Circle Dazzlers to the corners of my frame.

Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Good morning Julia and crafters all,
    Merry Christmas 🎄
Lovely card today, all the prep work is really worth it.
Lovely idea having lunch out with Mom and Dad, saves anything going wrong. How I miss my parents and as I come from a family with three sisters and a brother we all went to their house for Christmas dinner with our families and each took an element of Christmas food already prepped just to cook.
    Less stress.
Thank you for the update regarding Woodware - thank you Creative Expressions for not letting this brand die out.
Love and crafty hugs to all and hope you have a very happy and peaceful Christmas!

  7. Love the card....this die has been on my wish list for ages. Thanks for the great shows, the efco pot is now on my wish list. Our cat sympathises with your cats as he is having trouble finding somewhere to sleep on the spare bed, because it's covered in card and envelope boxes etc.!
So pleased to hear about Woodward stamps being kept on as they're one of my fave brands.
Have a lovely meal with your parents, and all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

  17. Good morning Julia, love the monotone black and white card, this is a lovely way to use the weaved background. Have a great day out and lovely lunch with your parents, sounds like an excellent solution to the problem stairs, and no cooking 😁. I really should do the craft room clear out and tidy up job too, there's not a lot of time for this in a typical week, never mind fitting in festivities of Christmas too so may fit this in before I return to work on Wednesday. Have a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017.

  26. Hi Julia, I had to chuckle at your comment about the cats not being able to access 'their' bed hahaha, so like my cat, if my routine gets out of order first thing after feeding Lizzie, and I don't 'make' our bed, she comes down to tell me, and only gets on when I've 'made' the bed hahaha, they're so funny aren't they.
I love this card, love the weaving dies, I haven't used mine for a while and was so glad when you re-ignited my love for them.
I hope you have a great catch up with your Mom and Dad, and that your meal is fabulous !! Give your Mom our love and best wishes for her recuperation.
I hope your Christmas Day is good and that you get your craft room organised, I need to organise mine, I only finished my Christmas cards Thursday afternoon, and I've just left it 'as is', it looks like a bomb has dropped on it hahaha.
Happy Christmas to All and all the very Best Wishes for 2017.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
