Time to Celebrate

Hi Bloggers.

I had a request to share this card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

I had already created a background using the Caught in Crystal Technique. I used Cosmic Shimmer Clear Lacquer Varnish instead of 3d Crystal Lacquer. I used Ginger, Cranberry and Sunset Orange Alcohol Inks, a little Pale Gold Mica Powder from the Cosmic Shimmer Metallics Mica Spray Set and a little Penny Copper Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter. I dusted the acetate side of the background with an anti static bag and stamped the Rose Blossom Purse using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut around the purse with scissors.

I laid a Spellbinders Gold Square One die inside the largest Spellbinders Fancy Postage Edge die and cut out from Custard Card. I threaded some Champagne Silky Crush through the slits in the die cut. I also tied a bow using 2 lengths of the ribbon and added a Vintage Metal Button.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Large Elegant Sentiments Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with the Gold Detail Powder. I cut it out using a Spellbinders 5 x 7 Detailed Scallops Die.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls to the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  8. Morning Julia, A stunning card, love the Happy Birthday embossing folder, and a genius way to combine the two dies together, when I looked at the card I couldn't decide how you had done that, until I read your step by step, genius, and so effective. The caught in crystal is perfect for these bags especially when the stamping is in gold embossing, it looks magnificent, and I'm so impressed with your 'cutting out', mine would never look that brilliant haha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  25. Hi Julia,
What a gorgeous card! This was on a Show I missed ,I guess! Not surprised you had a special request for it - it's lovely! At first glance I thought gilding flakes. I really must put the stamp on my wish list! It's quite long and things sometimes jump the queue! Not very British ha ha! I have the ribbon and think these ribbons are so lovely and the shades always delicate.
    Thanks again,
    Love Myra
