Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

I have a Christmas Card for you today -

The stamps and the dies do all the work on this one - great for batch making.

I cut the frame from Sue Wilson's Ornate Framed Holly Noel Die Set together with #8 die from Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B Die Set out of Antique Copper Pearl Card. I popped it onto a card blank made from Coconut White Card (yes, it's a proper card - it opens and everything!).

I popped a little CS Flake & Glitter Glue onto a piece of Wax Paper and picked it up onto a piece of Cut n Dry Foam. I used this to 'ink' up the Holly Berry Frame Stamp. I stamped it onto a piece of Coconut White Card using the 3 second rule. If batch making, you can re-ink and stamp as many times as you like but you must clean your stamp as soon as you have finished. The glue will remain sticky until you put something on it - just make sure the cat doesn't sit on it! I added CS Harvest Moon Gilding Flakes and removed the excess with a piece of Rubit Scrubit. I cut it out using the plain square die from the same die set.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Holly Jolly Sentiments Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Ancient Copper Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using the smallest circle die in the same set and a copper mat using the stitched circle die from the same set.

Easy peasy!

Two-fer plus

Hi Bloggers.

Today I have some cards for you made using the Justrite Multi-Step Landscape Elements Stamp Set plus the demo pieces I did on Hochanda which actually turned out better, I think!

So, this was actually a bit of an experiment and is why I added the Pixie Powders to the show. I had been watching the lovely Alison demonstrating Brushos on Hochanda and I thought it would be cool to use the Pixie's in the same way.

Here, I've used a piece of Coconut White cut using the largest die in the Justrite Stitched Banners & Rectangles Die Set. I stamped the bare trees using Watering Can Archival. I then spritzed a little water where the foliage should be and moved it around a little with my Water Brush. I then sprinkled over a little Bronze Blush Pixie Powder (I added some to a Palette first and picked some up onto a Dusting Brush in order to sprinkle over).

Once dry, I dragged some colour directly from the pad using Stormy Sky Distress Ink. I added some tufts of grass from the Multi-Step Landscape Elements Stamp Set using Chic Moss Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. With the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped a section of the Justrite Text Background using Coffee Archival.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using a die from Justrite Stitched A2 Banners & Rectangles Dies and inked through the die with Stormy Sky.

I popped my design onto a Black Card blank.

Here's the one I demo'd on Hochanda -

This one isn't finished but I thought it was worth showing as I may not get around to finishing it. I used Watercolour Card on this one - the Pixie Powder definately moves around better on Watercolour Card. I stamped the grass tufts using Basil Leaf Colour Cloud and I did a bit of precision inking of the little flower stamp (also from the Landscape Elements set) by using the pointy end of the Smoothie to add the Basil Leaf Colour Cloud to the foliage and Lilac Whisper Colour Cloud to the flower.

Here's the second card made using this stamp set -

For this one, I've stamped the trees and and the rocks using Watering Can Archival and the foliage with Olive Archival. I've added Frayed Burlap and Stormy Sky Distress Ink for a bit of colour in the background and stamped the sentiment from the Meadow Circles Stamp Set.

Here's the one I did on Hochanda -

Watering Can Archival, Basil Leaf Colour Cloud with Violet Haze Colour Cloud on the flowers and Clear Day Colour Cloud around the edges.

Here's today's card -

I started by selecting a paper from Phill Martin's Blossom 8 x 8 Paper Pad and cutting a square using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Squares. I stamped the text border from the Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Live & Make Art Stamp Set using Olive Archival. I cut a mat out of Black Card using Sue's Double Pierced Squares Set B.

I cut the mask from Spellbinders Venetian Accents Die Set out of Bright White Card. I pressed the die cut into Clear Perfect Medium, added CS Black Mirage Embossing Powder and heat set. I added more ink, more powder and heat set again.

I cut a panel from the same patterned paper and added a Black Card mat.

I stamped the sentiment from the Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Wildflower Art Stamp Set onto a piece of Bright White Card using Jet Black Archival.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 5mm White Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Here's today's card -

This card has been made entirely from Coconut White Card and CS Bronze Blush Pixie Powder used in a variety of ways (oh and just a teeny bit of Copper Kettle CS Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder). Now, I know the colours don't match exactly but I thought it was cool to show several techniques with just 1 pot of Pixie Powder.

For the background, I started by dusting a piece of Coconut White Card with my Anti-Static Bag and then stamping the Justrite Blooming Vines Background using Clear Perfect Medium. I sprinkled some CS Bronze Blush Pixie Powder over it and spread the powder around. I removed the excess powder using a dry wet wipe and then spritzed with water to make the colour pop.

I repeated the process with an image from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set. I cut out using Justrite Stitched A2 Banners & Rectangles and cut a mat with the larger circle in the set.

I made a frame using Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Rectangles and Double Pierced Rectangles Set B. I added it to my background using 3D Foam and trimmed away the excess.

I spritzed a piece of Coconut White Card with water and sprinkled with Bronze Blush Pixie Powder. I put aside to dry. Once dry, I cut a pair of leaves using Sue's Maidenhair Fern Die Set.

I popped a little Bronze Blush Pixie Powder into a palette. I added quite alot of water to make a wash and painted onto a piece of Coconut White Card. Once dry, I dusted with my Anti-Static Bag and stamped 1A from the Justrite Multi-Step Poppies Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium. I added CS Copper Kettle Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set. I cut out using scissors and added to my leaves.

I stamped the sentiment from the Meadow Circles Set in the same way as the background. I cut it out using a die from the Justrite A2 Card Front Basics Die Set and cut a mat from the same die set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 8mm White Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.  

The September release of Sue Wilson dies is out this week. I am expecting stock on Wednesday or Thursday. You can see them here and place your pre-orders. I have already discounted the dies by at least 10% so you will see the reduction on each die set. I will send them out as soon as I have them.

Another Two-Fer

I have another simple two-fer for you today -

The one above is a simple card with layers cut from Coconut White Card using the Justrite A2 Stitched Banners & Rectangles Die Set. I have stamped the image from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed using CS Gold Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I have cut an aperture with one of the circle dies from the same set into the top banner layer and set the image below it, stacking up with Creative Expressions Mounting Cushion.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Clear Perfect Medium and this time I embossed with CS Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using another die from the Banners & Rectangles Set. I slotted it in just poking out between the 2 banner layers.

I popped my design onto a trimmed card blank (this time I did not use the die set to create the card blank as I had already used the largest die in the set and I wanted to show another layer on my card rather than just have my card blank the same size as the largest die used - hope that makes sense!)

Here's your second card -

For this one, I started by spritzing a piece of Watercolour Card with some water. I added some CS Pixie Powders in Golden Mint and Pewter and put aside to dry.

I created my card blank from Coconut White Card using the largest die in the Justrite A2 Butterfly Garden Die Set.

I cut the circle die from the same die set out of Coconut White Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Die Set using Watering Can Archival and cut it out using a die from the Justrite Four in a Square Die Set.

Once my Pixie background was dry, I cut the largest 2 dies in the A2 Butterfly Garden Die Set together and also the butterfly wreath.

I layererd everything together and job done!

Here's today's card -

For the background, I ran a piece of Bright White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Art Deco Rose Swirl Embossing Folder.

I stamped the image from the Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Wildflower Art Stamp Set onto Bright White Card using Watering Can Archival. I trimmed it and matted it onto Dark Grey Card.

I trimmed a pattened paper from Phill Martin's Blossom 8 x 8 Paper Pad and matted it onto Dark Grey Card.

I cut the outer corner backer die from the Spellbinders Octagon Strips & Accents Die Set out of Dark Grey Card twice. I cut the 2 corners dies together out of the same patterned paper twice. I folded and tucked and added them to the Dark Grey backers.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Clear Stamp Set using Watering Can Archival. I cut it out using a die from the Spellbinders Venetian Accents Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some 5mm and 8mm White Pearls and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Two-Fer

Hi Bloggers.

I have a two-fer of little cards for you today (and that sentiment is here again!) -

So, to start with on this one, I made my own patterned card. I used a piece of Coconut White Card and stamped some of the flower heads from the Justrite Floral Silhouettes One Stamp Set using Lilac Whisper, Violet Haze and Clear Day Colour Clouds using a Smoothie. I also stamped one of the butterflies from the same set using Soft Cerise Colour Cloud.

I used the largest die in the Justrite A2 Stitched Banners & Rectangles Die Set to make a card blank out of Coconut White Card. I cut the other larger dies in the set, alernating between my patterned card and Coconut White Card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Circle of Friends Stamp Set using Watering Can Archival.

Here's your second card -

For this one, I made a card blank out of Coconut White Card using the largest die in the Justrite Four in a Square Die Set. I cut the largest 2 dies together in the set out of Antique Copper Pearl Card to create the window.

I stamped 4 of the smaller circle images from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed them with CS Copper Kettle Brilliant Sparkle Embossing Powder. I cut them all out using the circle dies from the Four in a Square Die Set.

There you go - 2 simple, dinky proper cards!
