Boxing Day Boxes

Hi Bloggers.

Well my lie in yesterday morning went totally to pot. I forgot about the brass band! Every year on Christmas Day at 8am a Brass Band comes and plays on the corner by our house - only for about 2 minutes, just enough to wake everyone up! I can tell you, it puts me in a right good mood every time! I haven't a clue who they are or why they do it but it annoys me every time. I wouldn't mind if they did it a couple of hours later - not everyone has little ones and is up at that time.

Moan over! I realised yesterday that I hadn't posted any Spellbinders projects this month so before the month disappears, I thought I'd better fix that. Obviously, I didn't get much tidying done as I was getting cards made but there's always today! Nathan and I are off to see the new Star Wars movie later so I had better get a move on as I also need to start prepping for my next One Day Special on 5th January.

I have a couple of little boxes for you today. They're made using the Spellbinders Box Of Treats Special Occasions Die Set by Marisa Job.

The first one is made from a paper in Lisa Horton's Christmas Paper Pad -

It's a cute littel box - once made it measures approx 2 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" (plus flaps).

This is what the main die looks like -

If you cut and then emboss, the fold lines are scored.

Then, just fold, and glue the side panels and then thread some ribbon through the holes in the flap. Really easy!

I made a second one -

I used Phill Martin's Snowflakes Paper Pad for this one. I also used some of the other dies in the set. The sentiment is from the Justrite Christmas Mini Tags Stamp Set stamped using Cobalt Archival.

John Lockwood is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda today at 9am (change from usually launching at 8pm!) then also at 12noon, 4pm and 2 hours at 6pm. I have just 3 items from the shows on my website but I have popped a 10% discount on them. If you're interested, you can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tonight or while stocks last. Discount will be applied at checkout.

I'm running a series of Flash Sales on my website from today till New Years Day. Today's Flash Sale is 20% off all Cosmic Shimmer Texture Pastes. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tonight or While Stocks Last. Discount will be applied at checkout.

Thanks for stopping by.

  8. Hi Julia
Shame about the brass band, but I bet Nathan slept through it! Great boxes.
The family are going to see the film on Wednesday, but I have very bad motion sickness and can't cope with action movies on the big screen so will have to wait for the blu-ray to be released (I'll be playing with my new dies instead). We played some great games yesterday, my mum can't draw which made for some challenges and much hilarity in one game.

This looks like a very useful die, I was not aware that Spellbinders had made box dies until now. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry you didn't get your lie in, enjoy your visit to the flicks, personally a Star Wars film would be my idea of Hell, lol.
