My Friend

Hi Bloggers.

I have shows today on Create & Craft at 12noon for 2 hours (with Nigel - beginning to be a regular date!) and Dawn at 5pm. I can now reveal that guesting with me will be Nikki Payne. Nikki is on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team and has recently made samples for me for the 3 in 1 shows and the last Heartfelt Creations Toolshed I did. This is her first show so I hope you will give her all your support as you have always supported me. If you'd like to see some of her work, pop over to her blog http://nikkiscraftingcreations.blogspot.co.uk/

Don't forget to go and leave a comment on yesterday's post to be in with the chance of winning the unclaimed 1100 followers blog candy.

Before I go on with today's card, I'd like to tell you that Sam Poole has been nominated in the British Craft Awards 2014 for her wonderful stamp designs. You can see the details here on her blog and there's a link to take you to the place where you can vote for her. Would be absolutely fantastic if she were to win!

Here's today's card -

Heads up - we're of the opinion that the background stamp I've used on this card will be the first sell out of the day. It's the Justrite Rose Garden Background. Don't say I didn't warn you!

So, for the background, I stamped the Rose Garden background using Dried Marigold Distress Ink and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Pearl Lustre Embossing Powder. Then I took the Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad and really worked the ink into the white spaces in the design. I used a piece of Kitchen Roll to remove the excess ink. You find that the ink really works into the little cracks in the embossing powder and looks really aged. I ran some Champagne Stickles around the edges and put aside to dry.

I stamped the frame from the Justrite Vintage Oval Labels Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Wild Honey and Tea Dye Distress Markers, Pastel Orange Water Colour from the Cosmic Shimmer Watercolour Pastels Watercolour Set, Frosted Scarlet & Tropic Yellow Watercolours from the Cosmic Shimmer Autumn Sunset Watercolour Set. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 6 and inked through the die with Dried Marigold. I added a little Champagne Stickles to the sort of seed heads on the image and put aside to dry.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Vintage Floral Labels Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut it out using a Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two Die and inked through the die with Dried Marigold.

I cut a Spellbinders Labels Four out of Ginger Card. At the emboss stage I added the Couture Creations Paradise Embossing Folder. I went around the edge with Champagne Stickles and put aside to dry.

I tied a bow using Cream Satin Edged Organza and added a Vintage Metal Button.

I assembled the card as shown adding a Pearl Swirl and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Olympic Gold around the edges.

See you later!

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  34. Hi Julia

I just love every single card you make, I can't help it, but it's true. How do you keep coming up with fresh ideas all the time?

I have a request - I have found that many of my customers are only buying smaller cards now - thanks to postal prices - and although my favourites are also the larger square cards, I wondered if you could occasionally make smaller cards such as 4"x4" and DL cards too please.

    Thank you.

    Love
    Hannah x
