Hi Bloggers.
Here's today's card featuring the Caught in Crystal Technique that you can see a tutorial of on Sue's Blog here.
I've used Cosmic Shimmer Clear Lacquer Varnish instead of 3d Crystal Lacquer. I used Ginger, Cranberry and Sunset Orange Alcohol Inks, a little Pale Gold Mica Powder from the Cosmic Shimmer Metallics Mica Spray Set and a little Penny Copper Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter. Once dry, I cut 3 panels and mounted them on some Rich Red Card.
The back background is a piece of Coconut White Card run through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Happy Birthday Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
I stamped the sentiment and the frame from the Justrite Large Elegant Sentiments Clear Stamp Set using Jet Back Archival. I cut it out using Justrite Vintage Labels Four and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. I cut a fancy mat out of Black Card using Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25.
I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Black Silky Crush Ribbon and added a Crystal Sparkler.
I assembled the card as shown adding an 8mm Black Pearl in each corner and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Black Pearl around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by.
Julia.

Hi Julia and all Wattsonettes. Oh Julia, this is the nicest card so far in my opinion, just beautiful so opulant. In fact the other day I bought some heat resistant acitate and 2 shades of blue ink, one light and one a mid blue (at least that how it looks on the labels) and as I forget I should start and take my 'eyes' shopping I had no idea the name of the colour's (really must take my eyes as they seem even worse since my birthday) !!! Thought I had got all the requirements to try the Caught in Crystal technique, but, nope, no chuffin mica powders - what a numpty ! I was looking forward to trying a wintery background, hohum not to be just yet, could try it ready for Mr Lancashire's January birthday : )
ReplyDeleteHow DARE Christmas get in the way of crafting ! Its been my saviour and therapy to craft one way or another everyday since I kissed my little boy (dog) goodnight, and to have to lose 2 days is likely to make me 1 tearful, over thinking miserable so and so ! Both you and Sue have been such a help, having your blogs to look forward to everyday, and share my thoughts with all these lovely ladies has been wonderful, so Thank You Julia.
Sending love and thanks to you all.
