Hi Bloggers.
I'm demoing at Strikes in Beverley today 10am till 4pm. I have some Spellbinders dies and some Phill Martin goodies to demo today.
Here's today's card that I mostly made at my demo at Samuel Taylors in Leeds last Saturday -
For the background, I used the Bargello Technique with some waste from 3 of the papers from Phill's Frosty Christmas Holly Paper Pad (See this post fot a description on how to do the background). I ran the background piece through the Grand Calibur with the Creative Expressions Let it Snow Embossing Folder. I then rubbed some PM Frosty Blossom Gilding Wax over to bring the embossed design out more.
I made a frame out of Coconut White Card using a couple of dies from Sue Wilson's Double Pierced Rectangles Die Set. Leaving the dies in place, I inked through the die with PM CS Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud using a Smoothie. I had an ink pad that I had made by adding some PM CS Frosty Blossom Ink Spray Mist to a piece of Cut n Dry Foam and then misting a little more Ink onto my Craft Sheet, adding a little PM CS Frosty Blossom Mica Powder to it and then adding that to my Ink Pad. With the stamp in my hand, I randomly stamped a tiny section of Phill's Holly Background Stamp into my frame - still leaving the dies in place.
I cut Sue's Seasons Greetings Die out of Coconut White Card twice. One of them I coloured by pouncing a Smoothie onto the die cut with Frosty Blossom Colour Cloud. I glued the 2 die cuts together with the coloured one on top offsetting them slightly.
I used my custom made ink pad to stamp a couple of the stamps in the Creative Expressions Shaded Poinsettia Stamp Set twice. I cut them out using Sue's Classic Poinsettia Die Set. I gave them a little shape, stacked them up and added a little Pink Dazzler. I cut a couple of Sue's Holly Sprays and added some PM CS Frosty Blossom PVA to the berries.
I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearl Corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.
It's just 2 weeks till my last workshop of the year at Yardley Gobion Village Hall just outside Milton Keynes. I've now settled on the projects.

Take care Kitty.
Happy Halloween.
beautiful card and your projects are fantastic
ReplyDeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely selection something for everyone. I bought the stardust pens when they first came out and as they run out I replace they are so subtle I love them. A good way for the grandchildren to get glitter on projects without glitter everywhere :)
I love your MDF bauble the grandchildren came for a sleepover and stole some of my stars, candy canes and paper and decorated them for their Christmas tree in the play room. They had a fab time as covering the things with the paper is so easy for little ones and the sanding of the edges and for me virtually no mess and added bonus!
You must be looking forward to a break from workshops and all the travelling especially as the weather will be changing soon!

ReplyDeleteHello Julia, a very pretty Christmas card, love the colours, makes it unusual and different. Like the look of your workshop projects, unfortunately cannot make it due to work. Have a great day today with the demos. Bx
ReplyDeleteLike your background technique using the offcuts, it is very effective. I also like how you you have inked between the dies to colour the frame. Altogether, a lovely card.
ReplyDeleteThe selection for your workshop is very interesting. Unfortunately it is a case of 'Rats!!! I can't drive in the dark and I am going to miss a really good workshop!' I shall just have to wait until the days get longer for the next one.

Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteGutted I missed freebie Friday but was just in too much pain yesterday to even get out of bed, the card is beautiful though.
Today's card is also beautiful and the projects are fab.
Would love to go to a workshop but never any around Liverpool and having Fibromyalgia makes it hard to get out some days. Having the creative expressions team on Hochanda so often is the next best thing though.
