What's new with you?

Hi Bloggers.

I have shows today on Create & Craft at 12noon for 2 hours with Nigel and at 5pm with Genevieve. Hope you can join me.

Here's today's card, based on a sample that Sue Wilson made for the show.

The background is a piece of Coconut White Card run through the Grand Calibur with the embossing folder that comes in the Party Time Couture Creations 3 in 1 set. I ran it through a second time to extend the design.

I stamped the Doilies Stamp from the 3 in 1 set of the same name, using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer True White Detail Embossing Powder. I then popped it inside the the embossing folder from the same set and ran it through the Grand Calibur.

I wrapped some Black American Seam Binding around towards the right hand side and added a bow 3 lengths of the same. I added a Crystal Sparkler to the centre of the bow.

I cut some little doilies out of red and black card using the dies from the set, stacked them up and added some White Pearls to the centres.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Gratitudes Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Folder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Labels 28 and inked through the die with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Black Pearls to the corners.

Thanks for stopping by.

Julia.

  1. Remind me to mention brown postal parcel paper - morning 'muppet' ! Morning Wattsonettes, catching up with your show's yesterday Julia, loving the ornate frame and watched you battle with the flakes lol. Im sooo chuffed that thanks to our Julia's tips and help I got to grips with the flakes yesterday (here is where brown paper is valuable) I appreciate Ive not got studio air con to contend with but when I first bought guilding flakes I was advised to put my work and box of flakes on brown parcel paper and it helps cut down on static. So after a month of hoarding and playing badly with my flakes I retreived them again yesterday after a quick peek of our 'muppet' using them with the frame, and low and behold the brown paper did cut down on static hense cut down on mess and less flakes over me which has to be good : ) so there you are, Ex Brummie Lancashire lass has a tip for all our Wattsonettes in Julia land. Todays card is lovely, and Im all set up to record your show's today Julia and thank goodness you are with great presenters again : ) although Nigel - bless him tends to chatter on a bit leaving less time for clear, precise direction from our lovely demonstrators, but musn't complain too much it could be a presenter that drives me so mad I HAVE to record so I can zip forward and just watch the demo, which isn't so good as I miss valuable tips : (

Right ladies, Sunday moan out of the way and time to carry on with catch up before Mr Lancashire awakes. Loving all the new toys so far, bar the party time cup cakes.
Sending Sunday hugs to all Wattsonettes, enjoy Julia's show's and Julia you have been great to watch.

  14. Lovely card today and loved your shows yesterday. S glad to hear I am not alone in finding some of the presenters soooo frustrating!! Thought I was just growing into a grumpy old woman!! They wait until a demo has just started and then start talking about some unrelated experience they have had or ask the guest a random question, nothing to do with the demo, which distracts the guest while they reply. Aaaaargh!! Have to admit my heart sinks when I see you have certain (male) presenters... I also record and then fast forward!
OK, got that out of the way! Happy Sunday and looking forward to your shows :-)
